Bought this 4 years ago to use as an inexpensive alternative to Kaboom tablets for our toilet tanks. It has worked well enough (I can't directly compare them to how well Kaboom works), and these are far less expensive than Kaboom tabs. My 1.5 pound package of Clorox Brominating Tablets has lasted 4 years being used in 2 toilets. I drop 2 tablets in each toilet's Kaboom dispenser about every 3 months (similar to Kaboom tablets if I remember right). There's no odor - good or bad. They fit perfectly in the Kaboom dispenser. According to my math, that works out to about $3 per toilet per year. The absolute best deal for Kaboom tablets I could find works out to about $24 per toilet per year. Maybe I should get a years worth of Kaboom tablets for one of the toilets and perform a head-to-head test?

I’ve been using these bromine tablets in my 1,000-gallon spa for about three years, and they’ve been a dependable part of my regular water maintenance routine. I originally chose bromine because I wanted something that would be gentler than chlorine and have a lighter chemical smell. These tablets have met those expectations. The odor is noticeable but mild, and I’ve found it much more pleasant than stronger chlorine products I’ve used in the past. For my setup, I normally place three tablets in my bromine dispenser. They dissolve gradually and have done a good job of maintaining my sanitizer levels when used as part of my normal water care routine. My water has consistently stayed clear, and I haven’t had issues with cloudy water that were caused by these tablets. Another thing I appreciate is that the container arrived with the tablets intact rather than broken into powder, which has happened to me with other chemical products before. That made them easy to use right away. After using them for several years, I haven’t experienced any major problems. They’ve been reliable, simple to use, and fit well into my regular maintenance schedule. While no spa chemical completely eliminates the need to test and balance your water, these tablets have made the sanitizing portion of that routine straightforward. The reason I’m giving 4 stars instead of 5 is that I rarely give any product a perfect rating. These tablets have performed well for me, but I think there’s always room for improvement with any product over time. If you own a bromine-based hot tub or spa and want a dependable sanitizer with a lighter odor than chlorine, I think these are worth considering. Based on my experience over the last three years, I would buy them again.
