Buy New
This product does not work; I can’t connect it to the system or the app. I’ve called customer service, and they were unable to help me. Frustrated, I decided to check the online forums for any potential solutions. Many users reported similar issues, suggesting that a software update might be necessary. I followed their advice and attempted the update, but it still failed to function properly. Now, I'm left wondering if I should return the product or continue troubleshooting on my own.

Not intuitive & app. Is horrible.
Installed the 3 piece Hunter system, timer, Rain Sensor, antenna sensor. Took me a good hour. System is not intuitive at all. Couldn’t even find my Network. I had to manually enter it. Make sure you take picture of serial number on chip for setup & rebate. Everything worked great when I installed 3 days ago. Then my internet went down for 30 minutes & it did not connect back to router 10 feet away. You would think it would be smart enough to get me back to running but nope. After trying to set up all over again several times & it still would not work. I finally deleted the app. & reinstalled it, took me through the entire set up process all over again. It finally worked but could not remember basic items like password & internet name. This took me about 3 hours of trouble shooting & it ends up being the app? What a disappointment. Then the rain sensor disabled the watering program & app. does not tell me why. Should say rain or forecast or some identifier. So I had to trouble shoot that to insure it was still paired & connected to controller found out it was forecast. No customer service phone number available for problems. I had to email & they said they would respond in 24 hours. Very disappointed, what a joke. Absolutely no customer service in a timely matter.

Must have if you have a Hunter controller
The Wi-Fi card has been an exceptional addition to our Hunter irrigation controller. The Hydowise app gives you full control while home or away; much is not available on the controller alone. Easy to program and has options that interact with weather forecast that can water more on hot days, less on cool or windy days.. you can even turn the controller on and off from the app.

2.4G network only
As advertised and quick. One note that is in the fine print is that it only works on a 2.4G network and will not work on a 5G network so plan ahead.

A pretty tough time with set up, but once done it's been working perfectly
I installed 2 of these for 2 identical Hunter timers on both sides of our house. The first installed, synched and set up fairly easily. It took several tries to get it connected to my wifi but after 3 tries, it finally connected and set up with the Hydrawyse app was easy. The app isn't the most intuitive, but once you understand the terminology (zones vs programs vs schedules), it's very helpful. I love being able to add photos to each zone, as descriptions are sometimes hard to come up with.We don't have rain sensors, but I have it set to monitor and adjust based on local weather forecast. So far, it's been very accurate and has skipped scheduled cycles when it's either rained heavily the day before, is raining now, or is forecast to rain that day. We had very light rain early one morning, and the system still kicked in at 7am b/c no more rain was forecast for the rest of the day.I recently planted some new plants in one of the zones and have been manually starting that zone for extra waterings on top of the scheduled ones. Doing so is so easy using the app.The second module that I attempted to install was a whole different story. It refused to be recognized at all. After spending over an hour trying, I stopped to analyze why this one wasn't working.Looking at both modules, serial number sticker on the first one was on the back of the module and it was printed in dark, crisp, clear lettering. The second module had the serial number printed on a faded sticker that was stuck (but partially lifting at the edges) onto the front of the module. The writing was so faded that it was a bit difficult to read the numbers. Thinking maybe a 1 might be a I or a 6 could be a faded 8, I tried all the different combinations. Still no luck.I finally ended up asking Amazon for an exchange, as I wondered if this had been a return/defective item that I received. That must have been the issue, because when the replacement arrived the sticker was clean and the print was dark and clear. I was able to install/sync it with just 4 connection tries as I did with the first one and it too, has been going strong for over a year now without any issues at allThis has been super helpful for us as we travel a lot. We have great neighbors who would stop by to turn off our sprinklers during a rainy week, then turn them on again when the storm system had passed. No need to ask them to do that anymore.Summary:- it takes several attempts to sync/connect it to wifi, but once connected, it works great and has not dropped connection in over a year now- we've had several power outages since installation, and when power is restored, the system restores itself without issue- adjusting, editing or manually starting/stopping operation is simple

Wand WiFi module is a piece of junk
Terrible product. This Wand Module will not pair with the Hunter controller! Total waste of my time and money! My contractor installed the Hunter X2 piece of crap controller that is supposed to pair with the piece of crap Wand WiFi module. They don’t work together. I set up a 2.4 GHz network on my router. I have moderate to strong WiFi signal strength on the controller’s display. I read all the vague instructions on their website and quick start guide, several times. We had two people trying to make this system interface and work; with phone for internet instructions, Wand instructions, X2 instructions… Each time the X2 controller got hung up (at random points in the set up process) and timed out. This piece of crap company wants to charge $66 per year to talk to a real person from customer support.

“Magic Wand”
A little difficult for a technically challenged old guy to understand the steps for activation on a smartphone. A little research and reading and following the instructions — the wand works great. Very intuitive phone controls. Not much even an “old guy” can’t do with the sprinkler system now —- exception, repair a damaged sprinkler head.

Basic features but it solved my issue.
I purchased this because my system wouldn't turn off at the correct times and it resulted in a hefty water bill. I thought I could monitor the system with it and lower the water bill. As many users have said the pairing didn't work for me over Bluetooth. Tried several time and had to switch to direct wifi to pair with the app. Even then, I had to try couple of times as it had a lot of glitches and timeouts. I had to remove and reinsert the module to get it working. The module goes offline couple of weeks time. This is really annoying as I have to physically remove the module and reinsert to get it working again. I can't do this when I'm on vacation or at work. The only other solution I can think of is plugging in the system to a smart switch and power cycling it when the module goes offline. The weather station doesn't work properly. I don't know where it gets the data from but the predictions are always wrong for my area and is unreliable. Other than that it has the basic features of remotely monitoring, turning on and off the zones, remote programming, reports etc. Nothing fancy but it solved my primary issue well atleast when it works.

Facilita controlar el sistema de riego.
Es una maravilla, es muy fácil de organizar y establecer los tipos de riego. Lo recomiendo porque desde cualquier lugar en que estoy puedo activar o desactivar el sistema de riego.
