Strong, versatile
It is a great product for the price. It's no $100 hangboard and it shows in the wood. It is coated for protection and that coating is very slippery so I had to sand that off and sand each finger hole due to roughness. After reading the reviews I figured this would be necessary so wasn't bothered by it. Once sanded down and installed to studs on my wall it's a very nice unit. Well sized, you can use it for crimps, jugs, pinches, sloppers and pockets. It takes a little bit of work to make it nice but once you spend the 20 minutes cleaning and sanding it's exactly what you'd want from a hangboard. End result, spend the time sanding or spend the money and not have to do it.

Nice sturdy board for practicing rock climbing finger grip. B
The media could not be loaded. 13-year-old womb fruit has been into rock climbing and had a (much more expensive) climbing board on his Christmas wishlist. Got this one for him because it’s very similar to the one on his wishlist but at almost half the price (he doesn’t know the price difference :)) and he’s pretty happy with it. Must install by screwing into studs.

Arrived very scratched up with some damage to the wood. Otherwise, its sturdy and works without an issue.

Completely unsuitable
To call this a hangboard - Thats a stretch. Where do I start? The smooth, lacquered wood is so slippery, the texture is closer to the smooth, polished surface of your dining room table. The item is made of cheap, soft wood and not even a solid piece, so theres a good chance of delamination happening over time. The crimps are uneven. The jugs are probably the least ergonomic design I've ever seen, basically two uneven blocks slapped on the top with some room for your fingers to slip behind. I get it, hangboarding is not supposed to be easy, and often times it hurts like hell, but the people who made this product clearly had never used a hangboard or put any thought into the design or construction. I shouldve returned it when I saw the texture, but I wanted to give it an honest try, so I hung it up. To make this item remotely suitable for regular training you would need to meticulously sand every inch, and even then you're still stuck with a poorly made - albeit usable - product. Look, I know this is the most affordable hangboard on amazon right now, but if youre in a pinch, I honestly think you shouldn't even waste your money. Wait til you can spend a bit more, I implore you. At least Im only out 40 bucks.

Pockets good, jugs bad
All the finger pockets feel nice on the hand; they're relatively smooth but have a little texture inside that make hanging not a terrible experience. That said, the jugs are terrible with hard edges that really dig into the insides of the fingers. Hanging on those for any period of time is uncomfortable. I like having those for just stretches, but this board really makes it uncomfortable.

Gift for a climber
Bought this as a gift for a coworker who loves to climb but isn’t always able to get to a gym or out to the boulders. He loves it and is able to practice different techniques in the comfort of his garage!

Great quality for the price
I've used a few different hangboards over the years, mostly in the $100-$200 range. This one is just as solid as much more expensive boards and has an excellent diversity of holds. For quality at this price point, this hang board definitely deserves 5/5 stars. However a few caveats below:There could have been slightly more effort spent on sanding and finish -- probably 90% on point and smooth, but a few areas around holds were still protruding or uneven. The two bolt-on/adjustable pinch grip holds are a great idea, but the bolt and insert nut system they use isn't great. They tend to either rotate under your weight (I'm 170) or, if you crank the bolts in tight, start to pull the insert nuts out of the wood. Finally, the dimensions (22" width) are given accurately, but there's one photo in the product description showing the board is as wide as an adult male with arms outstratched in a 'Y' position. In my case (5'10") that would imply a hangboard around 40"-44" wide... so unless that man is an oompa loompa, that photo is a very poor photoshop job.
