Good simple reliable
Works as it should. I used this to replace a cheapo digital display meter which quit when the internal battery went dead (that you can't replace of course). So I got this, which is a reliable classic setup. I use it to time glass bead life in my vapor blaster.I've seen a few people on here complaining about the noise it makes. Lol. It clicks every 1 or 5 seconds, I guess? I don't know what industry they come from, but all the hour meters I've seen are installed on machines that make some type of noise. A lot of noise. They're not installed in bedrooms, bathrooms, conference rooms, or libraries as far as I know. Maybe they're using them on electronics in a quiet environment(?) No idea, but I have yet to hear anything from this device, bc when the machine's on, I'm working, and I have better things to worry about than faint clicking.

Works on Husqvarna YTH 18542
Works on Husqvarna YTH 18542. Fits in the dashboard "knockout" perfectly. Only draws power with ignition on, and easy to read.If I recall correctly, I did cut one of the leads to add a female spade terminal because tractor connector was I-L and the generic connection was I-I . It's easy just identify the poles first. Took 5 minutes.

Would probably be fine if not exposed to the elements.
Update: After leaving the original review below, the retailer reached out to me and was willing to refund my purchase price. I'm grateful to them for standing behind their product. For my application I chose to purchase a name brand fully sealed replacement. For their willingness to fund my money after 30 days they get four stars.Original: Save your money and buy a higher quality name brand unit. This hour meter stopped working after only 16.4 hours. Might be ok for a climate controlled application but not for outdoor equipment.

Works just fine.
Using it for my Honda generator to track required service intervals. Opened front panel of generator and connected it to the 120VAC outlet. Working perfect.

Simple to install...
Mechanical Hour MeterPhoto shows the meter installed on an unfinished wall in a utility room -- it's adjacent to and wired to the motor side of a new 5 hp Maxair air compressor. Used an outdoor electrical box with a 1" extension and a plastic dummy cover. Even with the extension, you'll need to bend the two rear lugs on the meter at a 45 degree angle for it to fit, depth-wise. Used a jig saw to cut the rectangular hole for the meter and held it on with two 1/2" long #8 x 32 screws/nuts. This is a 110 volt meter, so attach the neutral wire to either lug and a hot 110 volt wire to the other lug. (If the two hots from a 220 volt cable are connected to those two lugs, the meter will burn out instantly.) The meter runs whenever it's powered by 110v. My meter will be used to determine when to perform compressor maintenance; which is based on hours of use. Here are the install parts used; all available via Amazon (other makes of each one are available):- Greenfield B34PS Series Weatherproof Electrical Outlet Box, Gray- Greenfield B001APS Series Weatherproof Electrical Outlet Box Extension, Gray- BELL PBC100GY Weatherproof Device Receptacle Blank Cover, 1-Gang, Gray
