Works great
So I bought this in 2022-09.Check the quickstart guide to avoid issues. Plugging to the wrong port to start can slow things down a lot. However, I checked out a few YouTube videos beforehand, took some notes and setup was easy peasy.First thing to do is upgrade the firmware. After that smooth sailing.Right now this is the only router I could find with two 10gb ports (RJ45) and Wifi 6. The only other router I would consider is the TPlink archer ax206. However, that has not been released yet. It will have one SFP+ 10Gbps port and one RJ45 10Gbps port, and a 2.5Gbps port on top of that which might be ideal for the fibre running into my apartment that runs at 1500mbps. That might let me remove some devices in between and downstream of my setup.Since the original release, I've heard QNAP put out a lot of firmware releases. I have no experience with the other version. But the current firmware 2.1.8.020 looks solid so far.We will see how well it works from a longevity perspective.

Updated: Latest firmware cuts throughput in half (Solved) + Setup Info
Purchased to route my xfinity with 1.3Gbps throughout using the 10Gbe WAN LAN ports. Worked great until I upgraded the firmware to v1.6 and throughput went down to half the rate. Nothing I could do to improve performance. You can download the earlier firmware's but you cant use them as the interface says you already have a later version. Opened a support ticket but no response from qnap. Also the wifi works great but the range is very limited. Really is a decent router but they need to fix the firmwareUpdate: Worked with QNAP (They did reach out to me after a few days) to confirm the performance issue was with their firmware. They were able to confirm version 1.6.4 crippled the 10GBe port. After about a week of communicating/testing with them they released yesterday 1.6.5. They asked me to test and it was successful. I am back to 1.3Gbps throughput from my internet provider across my LAN using QNAP 2.5gb Managed Switch and Netgear CM2000 Docsis 3.1 modem with Xfinity 1Gbps service. Anyway hope this information helps. QNAP was very interested and extremely responsive. I give them a lot of credit...Setup Note: I read some of the other reviews and my setup experience was a bit different. The default ip address is 192.168.100.1 which is the same address as my modem. This is what I did.1. Connected the QNAP 301 router to my switch and NOT the modem. Enabled my desktop with a 192.168.100.X ip address. Then connected with the browser to the 100.1 address and received the setup interface...I skipped all the setup scripts and went straight to the menu screen.2. Clicked on the left the NETWORK menu then the Port Definition Menu. On that screen changed the dropdown to WAN Gbe Port 1.3. Then clicked on NETWORK and VLAN. You will see a default VLAN identified with -. Click the config button by the trash can and you will get a screen to change the IP Address and the DHCP settings. I changed to my LAN Network which is NOT 192.168.100.x. Use 10.x or 50.x or whatever your LAN is.4. Connected the Router 10Gbe Port 1 to the Modem 2.5Gb port and connected the 10Gbe Port 2 to my QNAP Multi GB Switch which has 8 2.5gb ports and 2 10Gbe/SPF+ ports (Excellent switch).5. Reset my Windows workstation with 2.5Gb ethernet port on Motherboard to DHCP and rebooted the router to make the Internet connected.6. Logged back in the router and verified on the router dashboard that the internet was green.7. Ran xfinity speedtest.net a few times and I'm back to the following results:PING ms12 DOWNLOAD Mbps1317.87 UPLOAD Mbps41.87Hope this helps. Also on the Wifi the range for me is much better with the 5Ghz than the 2.4. Overall the WIfi 6 works great. FYI.This is the only solution I could find that was reasonably priced and right features that allowed me to take full advantage from a LAN perspective of a network greater than 1Gbps. Even the newest Linksys Wifi 6E Mesh system only has a Multi Gb port on the WAN side and the WIFE 6 is capable but only has 1 Gb ports on the LAN side.

10gbe at this price? Amazing!
Love this. I'm about to connect my 10gbe NAS and my laptop at 5gbe with the QNAP 5gbe adapter. It essentially means I can have vast storage at the speed of high speed local storage.Great if you use your laptop for different purposes at home and at the office as I do. (Video editing in the office, gaming at home).VERY flexible. I'd even say this would be ideal for a small business given it's array of "Enterprise" features.

Great router when it works
I have loved the router when it functions. I was even ok with the occasional reboot that happened every few weeks. But the latest problem is making this router almost unusable and certainly not reliable. The random reboot is almost a feature now that the DHCP server will stop assigning new IP addresses. The only way to get it to work again is to power cycle the router. I have a ticket in with support but they will take 5 to 10 days to respond.I finally had a session where they looked around my router to only be stumped and told me they would work on an RMA. They then went silent and have stop responding. I am ready to see how far it will fly out the back door.Great product if I could get support for what seems to be a hardware issue. Poor support that is painful to get any results from.
