Doesn't seem to produce UVC in test,
I have used UVC for sterilisation since the start of the pandemic, and tried many devices, so know a bit about it.Firstly there are a lot of scam UVC devices and a very small handful of genuine products.I was surprised to see this Belkin branded UVC steriliser at this price point, as frankly it seemed too good to be true.Firstly the device is compact, well packaged and does fast charge a wireless device! However when testing the UVC production using UVC test strips, the device either didn't produce any UVC or at least not enough to cause the strips to react. This is when compared to a major brand UVC sterilisation device - which I won't name for fear of this review being pulled as a 3rd party product endorsement.I have suspicions this device doesn't produce UVC due to the LEDs used, opposed to proper UVC bulbs. It also lacks any smell of ozone, and produces a weird artificial purple light. Finally the UVC strips don't react when in the box.Even if the box was producing UVC, I don't think the LED placement at either end is going to reach the screen, and certainly the strips were not reacting.I am puzzled how a big brand like Belkin can put their name to this device. Buyer beware.

I’m confused
I know how to work it but I’m confused if it’s working at all because yes I turn it on and wait for it to be done but there’s no smell to the smartphone after being used so did it nuke the bacteria or not? I have had similar product like phonesoap and after being used it had smell to it that u could tell it worked

A well-received gift!
Bought this as a gift for a friend that likes to keep everything super clean. She is delighted with it. Uses it for her phone, her cards, her keys. Great to have found a gadget that she can put to such good use :-)
