I purchased this to assist on repairs I was making on a farm tractor. I had to remove a snap ring that was deep inside and too far away for "ordinary" snap ring pliers.This is a rather specialized tool, and probably won't be used much by ordinary mechanics. However it can be a lifesaver for that "certain job" that always seems to turn up.For casual use, the tool is sturdily constructed enough. I particularly liked the locking ratchet action that the tool has, which is good for larger rings while setting them in place.Comes with extra tips, and extra tip retaining screws.Only one size tips, however.I also ran into a problem with trying to remove an "internal" snap ring. The pliers wouldn't quite close enough to get the ring out. I had to grind off some of the inside to surface to get it to close that extra 1/16th inch, to compress the ring enough to get it out of the retaining groove.

I had to replace the bearings and seals on the Kubota tractor. I couldn't have done the job without these. I had to thin down the pins a slight bit, but it worked great.

easy to use. very sturdy. snap rings just come right off.

Flimsy, the ratchet lock won’t lock, it just won’t hold the tension of the snap ring..
