In order for the mask to work does it have to be with the phone the whole time?

Music mode requires the phone/app. All the other displays you see advertised work without the phone. The app makes it easier to navigate to the display you want, but there is a button at the top of the mask that will cycle through displays one by one, completely independent of the phone/app. Side note: several reviews said the usb recharge version stops charging after awhile, so I went with the battery version.

Mine didn't come with any instructions...is there a place I can download it?
