8 Classic Albums - Bobby Vee

The music is great, but the 2nd CD storage area in the 4 disc set somehow doesn't sit properly, in mine anyway. It cracked the spines off the CD central mounting hub on that 2nd disc storage compartment and left the entire box difficult to close properly! The music on the CD's was really a treat, though......I tend to appreciate that era more than anything since!

Play this often. Brings back great memories. Bobby Vee lived in our town, and appeared often at many events. Gone now, but his sons still appear here often. The Vee family is amazing!

Bobby Vee just died this present year. He was first introduced into performing after a plane crash killed Richie Valen, Big Bopper and Buddy Holly. The next nights performance needed some act to fill out the next show . At 16 years old he and his brothers were launched in to being pros.

A great collection of music. This arrived exactly on time, however the case was broken and falling apart which was a bit disappointing. Regardless, the music was my aim and I'm glad to have gotten it. The CDs look like little records:) I don't regret buying this product.

This is a great collection of Bobby Vee songs. My very first 45 rpm record and first album was Bobby's "Take good care of my baby". That and Sharing you, Devil or Angel,etc all on these 4 CD's. Bobby is now in early stages of Alzheimer's, so this is a wonderful tribute to a beloved teen idol from the 50's & 60's. Sound is great & price is well worthwhile. Love Bobby Vee.? You will love this collection.

Bobby Vee is the closest thing we had to Buddy Holly. His pure voice and ability to deliver any song made him one of the most popular singers of the '60s R&R era and his looks made him a heart throb for my wife and so many from my generation. This collection is a MUST HAVE.

I have always loved Bobby Vee's music. I was a young girl when he became a teenage idol. It was fun to get his music and take a walk down memory lane. The CD's were cleaned up and sound so good and clear compared to the records of old. Thanks for the opportunity to purchase this treasure of songs.

Bobby Vee is a favorite, even more so that he married a hometown girl from here. loved hearing all of his old tunes and the memories it brought back.

I must admit to knowing little about Bobby Vee and I can't claim to have been a huge fan, but his records were part of my musical background when I was growing up as my mother and aunt liked his singing – and indeed, for the period and the type of songs he sung, he was a very fine performer, leaving a legacy of memorable hits.This 4-CD collection from Real Gone Music follows the pattern of their other releases – the albums have been remastered from original LP releases (not the master-discs held by the major companies that hold the rights to them) so they have the sound quality of the original vinyl records – these may not suit the modern audiophile, but they are very acceptable to those of us who listened to them – often on more primitive sound systems than today's Hi-Fi – so expect a little surface noise or occasional defect.I had no issue with this set – it is essentially Vee`s recorded output 1959 – 62, the albums listed above in the product description plus singles not included on the albums.A good compilation – a bit more expensive than it was when I got it, but fine for what it is if one takes note of what I've said.

Although Bobby Vee had a wagon load of hit singles in the USA, his albums did not fare as well, only one reaching the US Top 20.The reason for this is not hard to see on this collection of his first eight LPs - made up mainly of cover versions of other people's hits. The vocals are excellent, but the arraangements are in most cases, just clones of the originals.However, "Bobby Vee Meets The Crickets" (included here) was a standout album, (even if only one Cricket actually performed on the LP!) and there are some fine versions of other songs like "One Last Kiss" and "Light Infatuation", along with all his best singles from 1959 to 1962.If you did not (as in my case) have the money to buy these when they first came out, this is an inexpensive way of completing your collecttion.Vee is a fine songwriter ("Suzy Baby" his first hit was sel-penned), and it is a pity that Snuff Garrett did not allow him more leeway regarding the track selections on his earlier albums.The sound quality is superb throughout although sadly, there are no liner notes or booklet.

If you like Bobby Vee's style of music this is the album for you. The 4 discs include all his hits from both sides of the Atlantic and most of his popular songs from his many albums together with new material that many people may not have heard him sing.May he rest in peace.

I've been an Elvis fan for more than 50 years, but I also like Bobby Vee, especially in later years, as I lean more and more towards softer ballads and that is something Bobby Vee is good at.

This is an excellent collection and has helped replace most of my albums.The sound quality is really good.
