Trigger Point Therapy for Myofascial Pain: The Practice of Informed Touch

A struggle
There is a very poor evidence base for meridian lines and qi. This book seems to focus heavily on the belief of them and as a medical professional it is not something I feel comfortable talking to patients about. It just isn’t evidenced well enough, it’s all he said and she said it works. Acupuncture/ dry needling with a western medical mind makes more sense I.e. a controlled inflammatory response to aid healing, pain gate theory and increased blood flow.A difficult book to read at points and the first few chapters are a bit repetitive.Designed for people with a good understanding of anatomy.Works well as a revision tool for msk anatomy.Useful to enhance palpation.

Really useful trigger point maps
Great book - all the trigger points are shown for each muscle by body region in the back, which is really useful when working with clients - it helps them to identify their pain pattern and helps me to prioritise the muscles I work with for the best outcomes for them.
