It Works as Advertised but...
Well first off, I have this thing plugged up to my old school boombox via the headphone jack. It works, but the audio is a bit low once you save your work to mp3, which I might add records one continuously long file depending on the length of your project. Adjusting the volume on the boombox helps. I am sure you can boost the volume within Wave Pad somehow. If you configure some settings with the sound options within Windows, you can listen to what you're transferring while it's recording, which is real handy.I didn't use the software that came with it (which you have to download as there is no CD in the box). I used a program called "Wave Pad" made by NCH Software. The device comes with "Record Pad" which is also made by NCH. It's easy to set up, just plug it in and go, Windows 10 recognized it no problem.Wave Pad recognized it as a microphone array USB PnP audio device. I am sure it can be used with EZ Vinyl Tape Converter and Audacity as well, which I haven't tried. Wave Pad is like Audacity, a very good and free audio recorder, editor, player, etc. It will allow you to save your work as one of the many formats such as WAV, mp3, and more.I'm not sure how this one compares to the other ones made by DigitNOW and VTOP, but it seems the DigitNOW one comes with more adapters for stuff, which I wouldn't use. I opted for this one because it was the cheapest of the 3 devices that I found that converts cassettes to digital files. It is also very portable, the device itself is around 2 inches long. The cords on the RCA end are short, but the USB cord on the other end is about 3 feet long.Giving it 4 stars for the slight volume issue, short cables on one end, and no software disc.

Follow the directions EXACTLY
I have several old vinyl records from the late 70s that will never make it to commercial distribution in any other form - and I first tried to find a service that would digitize them for me. After getting a quote of $39.99 PER VINYL RECORD, I decided to give this a try. I received it, set it up and followed the directions exactly. I now have two mp3 files (one for each side of my first album) and I was able to use music editing software to split these up into individual songs and create an album in my music files that looks just like the others. NOTE: you will have to have some sort of mp3 editing software to split up your big file, or record tracks individually. I'm very happy with this purchase.

Worked like a champ!
I was hopeful, but skeptical this gizmo would work--but to my pleasant surprise it did! Just now learning my way around the software that comes along with it but so far so good. I do wish it was smart enough to recognize gaps between songs on an album as it records it--as it is right now the whole side of one album is "one track". I'm sure I could have started and stopped after each song but that is somewhat cumbersome. I did stop it after the side ended and flipped it and started it again to record the other--same way as side one--as one continuous track. Bottom line--I was just pleased that I was able to save this otherwise unobtainable LP on CD and was able to record it and save it to a CD. Will follow up if able to work out the track issue seamlessly.

Use Earphone Jack on Tape Player
It works well provided you connect to the tape player earphone jack. This isn’t real clear in the manual and so I stumbled a bit at first through trying the aux jack and the mic. Works good now!
