Fun and functional! Look great, price is right!
These are an excellent gimmick and fun gift. Quite functional and great for doing a shot with entertainment value.PROS:- Look just as cool in person if not better, definitely an unmistakable skull shape- Lightweight and easy to filll- Makes for a fun moment , great when used to signify a "special" drink or toast- Great for lovers of Skull designs and collectors of unique drinkware- Great price for what you get!As far as CONS go, I'm listing these but this is being *really picky* and MINOR / TRIVIAL stuff in my opinion:- The glass is thin and therefore these are delicate. (Handle with care and you'll be fine.)- If you put them in the dishwasher naturally the underside fills up with water because its hollow. (just rinse them out good and wipe before putting in cabinet).Simply put - fun, inexpensive, collectible, celebratory, cool item for many reasons / occasions.

Beware of idiotic reviews
I'm going to start by saying that I always read other buyer's feedback. However, its important to remember that there are always the idiots who give 1 star for things that don't matter (my favorite for this item was a guy who gave it 1 star because he dropped it while washing it, and the shotglass broke)I'm giving this shotglass 5 stars for several reasons:It serves it's function well. In fact, it holds quite a bit of alcohol to be considered a single shot.It DOES look as cool as the pictures portray. I was afraid that they may have altered the product image, but it really does look that neat (especially with a drink in it)It is more sturdy than most reviews let on. Sure, it's made of glass. Thin glass. But don't be an idiot and slam it down on a table after taking a shot. You can't treat such a delicate piece in that way and expect it to last. If you want something like that, get actual shotglasses or a steel tankard.Overall I am very satisfied with this product.

There are pros and cons
First of all, you really need to check out the details and look up info on a product before you buy it. I got it for sipping rum on the rocks, and it works great for that. But if you think that it's a genuine shot glass, you need your head examined.A shot glass is one ounce, give or take. Not much more or less. This glass is clearly described as being 2.5 ounces. That's 250% more than a single shot. Now that you understand that, there's no need to complain about it once you buy it. Sure, they need to change the name from "shot glass" to something more accurate, but in the end, knowledge is still on our side with this product.Next, it is hollow on the bottom and inside the bottom where the outside of the skull is. It's obvious in the photos, it's described as such in many reviews. If you look, you'll see it. If you order it and open the box and go "OMG! It's hollow on the bottom!", then it's a lack of attention and pure ignorance on your part. There's a description here, there are reviews here, and Google is your friend. It's painfully clear in the pictures that the top is thick-rimmed and pretty wide. Obviously not for throwing back shots of Jagermeister. And once again, the seller and/or producer needs to change their description from "shot glass" to "sipping glass", but it's still pretty obvious from the pictures and description what this glass is or isn't used for.Last, and fairly important to me, is the detail. This is what made me give four stars rather than five. Everything else was exactly what I expected except for the detail in the skull. The detail just isn't what you see in the picture. It's too smooth and the lines just aren't that tight compared to what you see in the product pictures. However, it still looks good and I can't complain too much. So, in conclusion, if you get any surprises after ordering this or are disappointed, it is due to your lack of attention. Why pay good money for something if you're not going to look into it first? It's a big glass, it's more than a shot, it's hollow, the glass is thin... These are all details that are readily available, and yet people still complain about them after they buy it. Read, pay attention, and soak it all up before you whip out your card. If you're looking for a nice little glass for sipping something neat or on the rocks, this just might do it. Hey, you could always use a straw if the rim is too much for you. ;)

Very cool looking but fragile.
The photo gives the impression of solid glass but it is a skin of glass never any thicker than a wine glass. So it broke.

Excellent
Very good quality. We got this for a dirty Santa gift and I'm sure it will meet the task very well.Recently there were customers who were questioning what Fred is made out of and how many glasses in the package. There is one 2 oz. shot glass and the following describes what it is made out of:Fred is actually a very specialized glass called borosilicate glass containing specialized components. In it's laboratory usage it contains around 80% silica, 13% boric oxide, 4% sodium oxide and around 3% aluminum oxide. You may possibly recognize one of it's famous brand names, Pyrex. This particular specimen is lighter than Pyrex and obviously has contents varied by its manufacturer. The box says is manufactured in China and their website says it is hand blown.Borosilicate glass is resistant to shattering and normally breaks in large segments or simply cracks on impact. It is also resistant to chemical corrosion and extreme temperatures which is why it is used in laboratory work as well as kitchen containers. The inventor of borosilicate glass was a German glassmaker named Otto Schott. He was prominent in the 19th century and succeeded in refining his invention around 1883 creating the Duran brand. Later around 1915 Corning Glassworks came out with the brand Pyrex for it's famous line of kitchen glassware.Regardless of all this technical data you will find Fred looking you straight in the eye when you imbibe in your 2 oz. shot. Shortly after you will find all this information totally oblivious to your current circumstances. Here! Here!
