Boost Buck Converter

I have only had this for a few hours, so I hope it lasts and I hope it’s reliable. But using it for just a few hours, it is simple and it works perfect! I want more! My application is very low current draw, just for low voltage solenoids but it definitely works. Thanks!

I built a barn door style equatorial mount to photograph the 2024 eclipse. I used this to regulate the voltage from an 8 AA battery pack to a 12VDC 3RPM motor. I used a 20T pinion gear on the motor drive and a 54T drive gear to move the mount. By dropping the voltage down from 12v to 10.7v, I achieved 1RPM on my drive gear which was spot on. As the batteries depleted, this little guy kept my output quite steady. As a precaution, I mounted a 40mm fan on the back. I just spliced it in to the input side. As a suggestion for DROK, a header to plug a fan in on the PCB would have been a nice extra. I am very pleased with the way this product works.

I am now on my second unit; I returned the first one because it doesn't work. The replacement arrived today, and it does not work either. In my case, the output voltage will not rise above 0.2V. Turning the adjustment potentiometer screw increased the output voltage from 0.2V to 0.22V, but no farther. I am also giving this a low rating because the name of the item is very misleading. It is listed as "Buck Boost Voltage Regulator, DROK DC 6-30V to DC 0.5-30V 5V 12V 24V Adjustable Voltage Converter, 4A 60W Power Supply Step Up Down Transformer Board Module with USB Port Case LCD Display Volt Amp" Notice the words "Step Up Down Transformer" in that name. But in actuality, it will only reduce voltage. It will not Step Up. Boo. Hiss. This is tantamount to fraud. Fortunately, I need the unit to Step Down. But I would be most upset if I had purchased it as a Step Up, and then discovered it wouldn't do the job. Furthermore, it requires a 1.5V differential between the IN and the OUT voltage. If you want to step down by less than 1.5V, this unit will not help you.

I'm using this as a 13.8 volt power supply to run a 5 watt amateur radio using 4 18650 cells, so there's really no risk of over temp conditions. The voltage output is stable and accurate, measured with a Fluke 87 V. I initially considered assembling my own power supply, but the DROK is a better choice. Assembly and use are easy, and although the included instructions are a bit clunky (for lack of a better term) there are a handful of videos on Y-tube that help to clarify operation.

Works great to adjust voltages from various sources to specific voltages.

Very nice The only problem with USB: Sometimes it randomly disconnects when charging , idk why

Before install I connected to a 12-volt power source and it blew a trace pulling 800mA after less then 1hr...Drok in my opinion is quality gear but im dissatisfied at the moment with my purchase. If Drok customer service makes this right I'll update my review...thanks for reading

Works well. Has to be assembled and the instructions are minimal but this is not an item aimed at the non technical. Works well. Checked voltage against a 5 digit bench DVM; the unit was off by 0.1v, more than good enough. Only minor criticisms are: There should be long extension to clear the 4mm fan that can be mounted on the bottom. I simply add 4 small rubber feet to the fan. The top plate should be completely clear so the LCD screen is easier to see.

Functions as advertised. The pots to adjust the voltage and current are a little inconsistent but still functionable. Nice display size.
