Cover worked perfectly!
I just received my new Dell XPS 15 9520 laptop yesterday and installed a second hard drive. The hardest part of the job was getting the back of the case off with electronic wedges. The installation of the second drive itself was simple. The heatsink cover fit perfectly and along with the hard drive took seconds to install. It was well worth the investment.

Excellent Heatsink
Excellent Heatsink for slot2 (center) - installed it as a second one on my Dell XPS 9530. The original was in slot 1 - near the edge. The one I bought was the right one - it's in the center and free. Use the screw that came with it, but not from the laptop lid. I had 1Tb, and I bought another 4 tb. I still installed a new ssd instead of the old disk on the right, it seems to heat up less there and I made it the main disk. And I installed the old disk in slot2 and covered it with this heatsink. I didn't change the Raid mode in the Bios - I left it as is. If you suddenly want to change it to AHSI - then think about it, for this you will most likely need to reinstall the system (Windows) or restore the driver from Safe Mode. This issue was discussed on the Dell website, so I will not describe it here.

Dell 9510 needs left heatsink for slot 2
The heatsink fits well and works as expected in my laptop. If ordering for Dell XPS 9510 note that you need the left ssd heatsink for it to fit correctly. This is described as SSD 1 in the title, but is correct for the 2nd SSD slot in this model.

Must have upgrade!
Works as expected, happy SSD inside of my xps 9520. Careful with the screws - the one in stock too long and will damage your motherboard.

Doesn't fit the advertised unit.
Although it looks to be the correct heat for the number 2 SSD the end cut out does not line up the mother board plaster tab. Instead the alignment cut out rest on the H42 motherboard post, prevented the heatsink from being used. Disappointing.

Slot #1 or Slot #2
These SSD Heatsinks are not interchangeable, so it is important to order the correct one.I have a Dell XPS 9510 and wanted to install a second SSD. From other reviews, there seems to be some confusion. In my case I ordered both before cracking open the case.According to the BIOS, I had one SSD card in Slot #1. After opening the case, I noted SSD#1 installed and the open SSD slot said SSD#2 as seen in the picture. The difference is at the end of the heatsink. For the right SSD, there is an almost centered plastic piece on the computer that the heatsink end fits (at the blue arrow). But for the left SSD, there is an off centered metal post (red arrow) with a slot for the heatsink tip end. This is important when ordering.According to the packaging, the heatsink for the left has the word “First” and the one for the right has the word “Second” and the title for the items say Slot #1 and Slot #2 respectfully. However, this is backwards (at least in my computer) when referring fto the actual hardware. The ”First SSD” version is for SSD#2 and the “Second SSD” version is for SSD#1. Hopefully the titles will be corrected in the future.
