Bittersweet Perfection!!
Bittersweet Surrender shocked me in all the ways. This was a book I picked up blurb unread so imagine my surprise discovering it was a love triangle. Now listen love triangles are not my thing, in fact I usually will run the other way. But, wowzers, when I tell you QB Tyler had me riveted. This baby was chock full of emotion and angst. I felt as emotionally wrung out as Charley. It can’t be easy to experience the greatest love of your life at the worst possible time. Married, her heart should be with her husband but things between them are broken and have been for a long time with little hope of mending. Never did Charley imagine she’d find her heart captured by the very last man she should be with; her marriage counselor. But, love knows no bounds, it is messy, it is irrefutable, it is inconvenient, it is impossible to deny the heart what it wants and QB made sure I felt it all. Charley’s internal struggles and conflicting feelings between Dr. Montgomery and her husband was powerfully tangible. Oh my and that spice, QB ma’am, the spice was freaking im-pecc-able!Bittersweet Surrender was a compelling, passionate, tempestuous tale that had me in its chokehold from beginning to end.Lacy Laurel made for the perfect Charley. Her and Alexander Neal’s narration truly just embodied the essence of this beautiful love story. This is book one of a duet so expect to have your heart in your throat until you pick up book two.

Wow! What a tangled web we weave.
Holy Smokes! This story was unexpected and uncomfortable. I absolutely despise cheating, there is no excuse for it. I figured there was no way I’d really get into this story with that being the catalyst of everything but, surprisingly, I got into it! Still did NOT approve of the cheating. My motto has and always will be, break up 1st. Even if with my voicemail if I don’t answer the phone. Have some dignity for your past and move on to your present/future with a somewhat effort of being honest and clear conscience. That being said, I can’t imagine being ignored for YEARS like our h was. It’s got to be a mind and self esteem F for sure being taken away from everything you love and expected to be a housewife with nothing to give you joy around or to do. This story is full of hurt and passion and shared responsibility for all that went wrong. I liked that part. How nobody got off Scott free with no blame. It dealt with real life situations and spread enough pain around so everyone got a helping of it. So very uncomfortable at times that I had to stop reading. I deal with vicarious embarrassment on the daily so this was ROUGH people. Not sure what comes next but I’ll bet a brutal battle. This book ends on more of a book break (like when reading a Sarah J. Maas mega novel & you hit certain milestones within where the book is about to explore a major new part after a shocking revelation or someone had an aha growth moment and it ends “Part 1”) that’s how this ends. Not a cliffhanger but a “Part 1 end” as there is no way to stop at this point if you are reading the book as NOTHING has been cleared up or resolved. A good amount of back and forth, hurt, deceit, and the domino effect that hits family and friends?? Yeah this story twists and turns all over the place. And how can I go ANY further without speaking about the holy shee-it ton of spice! 🥵🔥😮💨💦! I was blushing as these words burned up pages wow-zas!! The passion Charley and Will have shows such a (physical) connection that there is NO question about their chemistry. Nope! That is hotter than ever. I only question their emotional connection. They throw out, “I love you” so frequently that it lost its power for me. I began to worry that they are trying to convince themselves as well as each other that this is true. So much of their relationship was physical that I wonder what happens now that they are in the real world. Q.B. Tyler isn’t a new to me author but her brand of Taboo messes with my head so I have to take her is small dozes! 🤣 Don’t get me wrong, I LOVE EVERY MINUTE OF THESE BOOKS!!! They just have such an uncomfortable undertone, her stories, that I need breaks in between. 😉 All in all, this book 1 of duet was entrancing. I just had to keep following this train wreck to the end and realized I’m still not off this mad ride. So heading off to read the next book to finally get all the answers and, I’m sure, get a poop ton more of uncomfortable situations but hopefully learn a bit more about Hot Doc as it seems this story might center more around him with Matt going after him now. Can’t wait to see how this all comes together in the end!

2.5 stars for the selfish people in this triangle
I honestly didn’t like this book. I had so many scratch my head moments that I was waiting for a big twist at the end.I love taboo stories but the characters were not endearing to me. The least problematic character was the marriage counselor however he broke the most sacred code of all, Trust. Charley spend most of the book talking about she wanted, she wasn’t getting and yet she continued in a couples counseling that she wasn’t invested in. The husband Matt was underrepresented in this book. I wanted to know this story from his point of view too. How does a man who noticed bruising on a young 17 yr old and fight so hard to help her all of a sudden works relentlessly like he owes the mob money. That man wouldn’t forget a birthday. I think Matt was misrepresented and no one really delved into who saved him from his trauma. There was a lot of sex in this book. It seemed to overpower the plot where flawed people are trying to find their happily ever after. It just was too much sex and not enough accountability by each player. I’m struggling with whether I will read book 2.

I loved it!
I read this book before and loved it but after recently listening to the audiobook, I loved it even more. The book/audiobook was one intriguing, spicy and forbidden love triangle story. I was absorbed from the very first words and couldn’t stop listening. I loved the narration. The writing is just excellent and this is one of the best audiobooks I have listened to in a while. This story is so hot, angsty, emotional, thrilling and painful and I loved it! Now, I’m on to the next book. I have to know how this story concludes.

Wow weeee
Hot and spicy. Overall it was an okay read. I don't condone cheating, but this was extreme circumstances. Never let a man tell you more than once that he doesn't want you.

Outstanding
I love emotionally complicated books and this one is such! Love is complicated, so is marriage, attraction, loneliness and loyalty. The story focuses on Charley and Matt a couple married 5 years on the brink of divorce. As they go through marriage counseling, feelings develop between Will, the counsellor and Charley. The writer depicts the struggle that we must face between right and wrong, being true to one's self, and how we all deserve to be happy. It ends in a cliff hanger, it's a must read!!!

Really good read !!!
Another really good book from Q.B Tyler with fantastic characters and a love triangle - yes I do love a good love triangle. Now I obviously don't condone cheating in real life but in books I can't get enough of it and this one was a fantastic story line. If you don't like cheating then this book might not be for you.Charlotte has tried everything she can to make her marriage a more fulfilling one and now her husband Matthew and herself have decided to go to a marriage counselor as a last resort to try and get things back on track. Enter Dr Montgomery with his sexy smile and his gorgeous blue eyes, Charlotte is instantly attracted to him and as time goes on it is obvious the chemistry between Doctor and patient is evident and so begins the push and pull and the anticipation this book brings.I liked Charlotte, the poor girl tried everything to make things right when all her husband could do was neglect her for his work. She was lonely and needing something more in her life and this is where Dr Montgomery comes in.There is lots of emotions in this book, sometimes sad, sometimes happy but one things for sure the sex was really hot !!! BUT and I can't believe I'm saying this, but in my opinion there was too much sex. The man was a stud and I've never read a book where a woman could have so many orgasms in such a short time lol. It was slightly unrealistic to say the least but this is fiction people so I'm letting it slide. I'm still giving it 5 stars though as I did really enjoy it a lot.I'm diving straight into the conclusion to this story Bittersweet Addiction and I can't wait !!!

Addictive
“You think you know my story, but you don’t.” True words if ever I read them.Charlotte cheats on her husband, but this isn’t a story about that, she isn’t a bad person, yes Will may be her marriage counsellor, he may not have helped her failing marriage but he helped in so many more ways. This is in fact a love story, it’s about how far you would go, what you would sacrifice for the person you love most in this world.QB Tyler has given us an amazing story with these two imperfect people who you can’t help but root for, wanting them to get their happy ending. I couldn’t put it down, Will and Charlotte have a passion you only come across once in a lifetime, her writing is exceptional, she draws you into their world with her words bringing her characters to life with twists and turns and full of real emotions.I am eagerly awaiting the next book in this series to see how the story continues.

4/5 stars with 4/5 steam. Addictive.
QB Tyler has a way when it comes to addictive steamy taboo romance. Her writing always pulls me in & I always find myself obsessed with the main characters & where their love will go. And this has continued into Bittersweet Surrender.- Marriage in trouble- Forbidden Romance- Love Triangle- !!CheatingIn a nutshell, wife who has been unhappy for a good 2-3 years, finds herself falling for her marriage counsellor where they start a scandalous affair. Yes, this read is not for everyone. But for those who enjoy taboo fiction, this book is perfect.Charlotte has been in an unhappy marriage for a couple of years. She feels lonely, she isn't allowed to work due to her husband stating she is a "trophy wife", and finds herself bored most days with her life, feeling like it has no meaning. Her husband is working constantly to the point he even forgets her birthday. She wants a divorce. But her husband won't go down without a fight, leading them to marriage therapy.Over a year into marriage therapy, nothing has changed. Charlotte is still miserable, & when their marriage counsellor suddenly makes a forbidden move, she jumps at the connection. But what she wasn't expecting was for the affair to last for months & months, and for her to actually feel like she has found her person, and it isn't in her husband.
