Can you take the whole panhead off the window mount and install it on a vortex tripod? And vise versus? Thank you.

I bought a separate pan head so I have never tried doing that. I do know that the window mount won't work with my angled Vortex spotting scope. So I have not been able to even us it on the window.

Will this work with an angles scope?

It can fit an angled scope, but as mentioned before, you're going to need to rotate it with most vehicle window sizes.

What is the maximum weight it can support? I have heavy cameras and lenses, and some of the lenses are over 4 pounds

If you fully engage the clamp on the window it will hold the weight but you must really tighten the clamp and have it all the way inserted on the window edge....otherwise it is likely to slip....it is a good mount for spotting scopes and such but a heavy camera and lens is going to test its limits.....
