The premise of Ghost Fightin' Treasure Hunters (GFTH) is that you are part of a group that come across a haunted house and you are to collect its treasures before the ghosts overrun and haunt the place. To do so, you take control of a character and roll the dice to determine how far to move around the board. Simple. However, every turn, each player draws from the deck a card that can lock doors, or more likely, place a ghost on the board. Too many ghosts in one room and it becomes haunted. Too many hauntings and you lose the game. Fortunately, players have the opportunity to fight ghosts and remove them from the board. It is this balance of fighting ghosts and gathering the treasure that makes GFTH so good.I love co-op games and whilst this is undoubtedly aimed at the family market, it makes for a really quick and light co-op fun for adults too. Basic and advanced rules add elements (shuffle the draw deck, lock doors and collecting treasures in numerical order) that adjust the difficulty level as required for your group of players.Overall this is a fun game with beautiful artwork and funky green ghosts. If you love co-op games but fancy something light now and then, this is for you. Likewise, i see this as an excellent game to get your kids interested in the hobby and sat round the table. Ticks both of these boxes for me and I would say go for it.

This is certainly a perfectly priced board game for a gift or something to entertain the kids and the components are fantastic.As a premise this is simply a roll and move game which sees you traversing the house to retrieve gems and to prevent the ghosts from building up and forming together to create more imposing enemies that takes cooperation with another player to beat.Playability is repetitive as you travel back and forth to drop off each gem you collect but the game comes with alternative modes that add tougher challenges and that adds replayability.That said my kids love playing this game even at the basic level so for kids it's a really appealing game regardless of the back and forth traversing and from an adults perspective it's a game with positivity as all players must cooperate to win and teaching kids team skills is always a great tick in the book.Now as some background, this game exists in another format for Ghostbusters which has the exact same game play but comes with the female ghostbusters figures instead.That sells at triple the cost so go for this edition for sure its literally the same and my kids enjoyed using the kid based characters.Next there's an expansion for this game that adds a lot more playability and a lot more fun to the game called the Creepy Cellar. Unfortunately it's rare and sells for double the price of the base game but it does add a lot more to the experience and brings in a ghost king character. Ita vreat and i was fortunate to find it on amazon.com and with shipping and tax still worked out half the price as an eBay scalper would sell.Seriously a very good game for kids with solid production quality and the cost of below £15 is phenomenal.

Sat down and played this both on the basic and hard game. The rules are simple and easy to learn. The gameplay has elements of strategy,cooperation and resource control. The basic premise is control 4 peices to collect gems. No matter the nuber of playing 4 peices are controlled. So in a two player game each has two turns. Which might be a struggle for children Movement is determined by dice roll. Each roll has a high potential to add a ghost to the board. Too many ghost in a room and its haunted. Too many haunted rooms and its game over. You can remove ghost but you need to be in the room and its on a dice roll. If a room is haunted it can be reversed but two players need to be in the room and on a dice roll. Throw in that the gems need to be collected in order and doors can be locked randomly creates a easy to play challenging to win. Game time on easy mode is about 30 mins. Hard mode draws the game out to about a 60 mins. Game quality is high but let down by quality of the deck of cards. There is no player competition in the game as it is a cooperative game. Enjoyed the game and will play again. At a low price point the game is well worth a bash for all ages.

I don't think I've ever had so much fun yelling at my husband!! This game is adorable and shockingly not as easy to beat as you'd think!! We came so close 3 times and just got out butts handed to us each game. Neither of our strategies work, so neither one of us gets to say "well if you just did it my way!" Honestly I cannot wait till we can have friends over again, so we can whip this one out. So much fun, do easy to learn. The character figures are adorable and soft. 100% recommend this game!!

The game is not language dependent, there is no written text on any of the cards.....I have the German version, with English rules printed off from Board game geek. It does look like a kiddies game, but it is hard to beat on the 'Advanced Rules', and me and my friends (50 somethings) have a great time playing it. If you want a light weight, fun game that is surprisingly hard to win...you can't go wrong with this game.
