Loud toy
Great product, deducted a star because the volume is very loud with no way to turn it down. My son just loves it tho!

A lot of fun!
We have another remote control Thomas from Fisher Price, which was cheaper than this one, but I have to say, the more expensive price of this Thomas is worth it. The train is a nice large size, but isn't too heavy for kids to handle. The guitar-shaped remote control is small enough for small hands to grab, but not too small that it would easily get lost. And if you do lose the remote or prefer not to use it, there's a "1" button on the train that makes it play music and drive around on its own. It even encourages interaction with sayings such as "clap your hands" and "can you help me back on track?". The train also lights up and plays various music. With the remote control, there are control buttons to make the train go forward and turn around. My 2 1/2 year old son's favorite thing is the "show time" button control (that's what he calls it), which puts Thomas in automatic mode where he speeds around, twisting and turning, and doing poppa wheelies. Overall, this is an awesome toy and a lot of fun.

Possibly the Most Annoying Thomas Ever Made
I'm pretty sure the toy companies have it in for parents. I bought this for my son's 2nd birthday. He absolutely loves Thomas and music so this was a no-brainer. My son loves this toy. After listening to it for 30 minutes straight, I don't. I thought the songs he would play would be from the show "they're 2, they're 4," etc... nope. The toy manufacturers cooked up a new kind of hell with this one. Super annoying, and kind of feminine-cleaning-product-y. Thomas wails like he's a celebrity on a stage, all while whizzing around, popping wheelies and running into things like he's on some sort of crack-induced bender. It even makes camera noises and flashes like Thomas is being followed by the paparazzi. And it's not just the audio that's loud. Put this thing on a hard floor and the mechanics drown out the song. The clacking he makes when he pops a wheeelie or backs up has caused my eye to have a permanent tick.Still, my son loves it (although even he seems to have a max-out level for it, thank God) so we'll be keeping it around. I may invest in some ear plugs though.
