And all were household names: Cher, Ann Margret, Bernadette Peters, Juliet Prowse – even a man, of sorts, Elton John dressed in his crazy 70s best.Buy it for the lush photography and the quality packaging that make it an excellent coffee table book, but read it for the highly skilled drawings by Mackie, which I wasn’t familiar with before I bought this book, and of course for the energy of Frank’s enthusiastic and knowledgeable prose. Who knew Ethel Merman had a disco album?

Bought this as a gift, but it's a beautifully designed book. Love all the original concept art drawings included and the background info on them.
