An excellent book for anyone visiting Sicily and who wants to get a basic understanding of the language used by the local inhabitants. It also helpful - up to a point when reading novels by Sicilian authors - but a more in depth dictionary would be required by those going into the language more comprehensibly

The book was most helpful when we went on holiday. We did find however that most people speak Italian now, which was a surprise.The text was a little out of date as the curancy is the euro.

Not much in the vocabulary. Useless for reading Camilleri.

Very good book if you want to learn the Sicilian form of Italian, but not if you are looking to learn the Sicilian language. Unfortunately the book sells itself as a Sicilian language book and not a Sicilian-Italian book.However, to give credit where credit's due, if you want to be able to communicate with Sicilians in their own dialect this book WILL help you as the majority of Sicilians no longer speak the Sicilian language.I found it useful but was disappointed that it wasn't in the Sicilian language.
