Reliable masking fluid. Works well and easy to remove.
I’ve used this masking fluid for years, and it has never let me down. Recently, I tried switching to a different brand but eventually went back to this one because it works perfectly for me. After drying, it doesn’t let water through, and I don’t have much trouble removing it. Just keep in mind that it has a strong smell, though not overwhelming. Here are some tips I’ve learned over time, if it helps anyone: - The best way to apply this or any masking fluid is with a silicone tip. It’s soft and allows you to spread the fluid evenly. Using brushes can damage their bristles, but if you choose to use one, select an old brush or one you don’t mind getting stained. Be sure to wash it immediately after applying the fluid to prevent it from drying on the bristles. - Since this masking fluid has a beige-yellowish tint, the longer you leave it on, the more it can stain the paper. - It can be removed relatively easily with your fingers or a curved tool that won’t damage the paper. Always be very careful, especially with 100% cotton paper, as it’s more delicate (and expensive!). It’s a good idea to test the masking fluid on a separate piece of paper before applying it to your final work.

Lovely shimmer with one layer
Thin layer over watercolor adds appealing shimmer. Multiple layers appears as metallic silver. A little goes LONG way. Ordered two bottles and m gifting one to my grandson‘s girlfriend who likes to paint fairies; this should make wonderful fairy wings!

Takes a lot of experimentation
I read a lot of reviews & watched a lot of videos about this product & despite the overall consensus that it doesn’t work very well, I tried it out anyway. I’ve got some notes. Just FYI, I tried this with Talens Art Creation watercolors (not the highest quality, I know) so the results might have been different if I used nicer paints. • When I used as directed & mixed this in with my watercolors, that’s when I got the least amount of visible granulation. • The method I use (pictured) is to place the paint down onto the paper & wait until it gets damp, then I take a pipette & place a drop or two wherever I want there to be texture. If the paint is still super watery, this method will not work because it dilutes the solution so much so that the granulation is barely noticeable. • My method most often achieves a cauliflower/bloom effect, which I’m a fan of, though I understand that not everybody is a fan of that kind of texture. • I also tried this with Himi jelly gouache paints & ink from Posca acrylic markers. After watering these mediums down a little & mixing it in directly with them, they do look a bit sandy/grainy. • This probably goes without saying but if you already have paints that granulate, this solution elevates them to a whole other level & I love that. Overall, I’m giving this 3.5 to 4-ish stars because I really like the effect that my paints get when I drop the granulation medium on top of damp paint. It probably would have gotten 1 star if I kept using it as directed because I felt as though the granulation was hardly noticeable that way. I have watercolors that naturally granulate on their own & was hoping that this product would yield a similar appearance to those if used on regular watercolors. Unfortunately, that’s not the case, but I’m not mad at it. It’s okay, though I probably won’t be purchasing again. It’s a little expensive for what it does. Fun to experiment with though.

Top of the Line!
This really has a 'wow' factor to it! It's excellent to watch the granulation, as well! After I'm out, I'll definitely purchase again!

yippee to this masking fluid for watercolor!
I’ve never used masking fluid before, and it’s a game changer! Instead of trying my hardest to keep white areas clear of color, this covers areas while painting, to be peeled off after, and voila, beautiful white paper underneath without hassle. I use a small dotting tool to brush the fluid over the paper on areas I want to keep white. You can also use this product over dried watercolor painted areas to preserve while painting over it. overall recommended for artists, if you haven’t tried masking fluid yet, I suggest you give it a try

Favorite to prevent cracking
My fav. I use this when I put my watercolors into a shallow full pan so it doesn't crack. I use a pipette to add one drop only and mix it into the paint with a toothpick. I don't recommend putting anymore than 1-2 drops as it can change the way your paint behaves. You can also use this to get cool affects during watercolor. doesn't leak when on its side or if you drop it For some reason the seal was already taken off, I'm not sure if it was used though ?? I supposedly bought it "new".

VERY NICELY APPLICABLE IN MASKING DURING PAINTINGS AND EASILY REMOVABLE. GOOD PRODUCT

When removed, it also removes the first layer of paper. The bad smell is expected. Also, someone said it's yellow that's why they returned it. IT LITERALLY SAYS ON THE DESCRIPTION THAT THE COLOR IS YELLOW. So fix your expectations.
