it's worth paying the extra for a nice quality cake pan. This is sturdy, dishwasher safe and will last for years, my cakes have browned evenly. Very happy with purchase.

It is difficult to find a solid stainless steel round pan. I needed a round pan that did not have non-stick coating on it. I needed to use it in the freezer for some delicious recipes. You cannot put a non-stick pan in the freezer. The quality of this pan is outstanding. It washes wonderful, and I would highly recommend hand drying it to preserve the life. Highly recommend purchasing this one.

I am perfectly happy with steel even if it's more difficult for me to deal with than aluminum. I make dutch babies, so I need to heat the pan in the oven before adding batter. I notice that as soon as the oven reaches temperature, the aluminum is ready. With steel, I let it sit in the oven longer to actually heat up.I don't blame the material for the cleaning difficulties; I probably just don't know what I'm doing
