Good for the price
Blade was not sharp out of the box, but it was not an issue with a knife sharpener. The handle is not made of wood, and feels like plastic. It worked well to trim fat off the ribs. It is a good deal if it can last.

Very good and Beautiful Knife.
I acquired this knife in early December as an early Christmas gift to myself, recognizing the necessity of a reliable tool for preparing holiday meals. Opting for this particular model has proven to be an excellent decision, as it quickly became my preferred blade. Maintaining it meticulously, I never neglect to wash, dry, and store it in a hemp case. While I've only sharpened it once, attributing the need to others mishandling it, its performance remains exceptional. With a delicately thin blade and a well-crafted edge, it effortlessly slices through ingredients. Though the handle leans towards the heavier side, it offers a sturdy balance that doesn't induce fatigue during prolonged use. Overall, an outstanding investment for culinary enthusiasts.

Light and nimble
I have a bigger, heavier, sturdier cai dao, but its size and weight make it less agile. I bought this cheap one to have a lighter, more agile alternative, and it delivered.Let's not kid ourselves, it's a $14 knife, and it shows. The handle is visibly cheap, but while it feels flimsy, it's firmly attached to the tang. There's not hint of wobble. The mystery steel is barely polished and has some very light discolorations, but it feels quite solid and it's adequately sharp out of the box. The blade is quite thin, which makes the knife lighter. It's also nicely balanced. It doesn't feel front-weighted or back-weighted.And that's where it shines. It's so light and balanced that it feels like you're using a taller nakiri, but with all the advantages of a cai dao. But because it's so light, you should use it only on non-frozen vegetables and boneless meats. If you need a very functional cai dao for light jobs and you're not looking to impress the audience with a spiffy luxurious knife, this is a great deal for the money. And by all that's holy and pure, don't scrape the blade sideways across the cutting board like they do in their video! That's how you dull or even damage an edge.
