Amazing for HS boils
I never had a BIG issue with boils/ingrown hair in bikini line area until about a year ago. I went from a standing position job to sitting during pandemic and then hit menopause so was getting an ingrown hair almost every week (stopped waxing so that's most likely the culprit).I had a golf size boil on my groin that literally kept me from walking (I am 5'6 150 lbs and could not even get a size large underwear to cover bc so swollen). I do have health insurance, however my sister had a terrible experience with lancing so I was DESPERATE!!!Applied this ointment and took about 12 hours to bring it to surface. Let me tell you, it was disgusting, no lie had to sit on toilet to let it drain before even trying to clean it.It will NOT miraculously drain all puss. You must apply gentle pressure around the area to coax it out.I had to reapply bandages with this ointment for about 10 days. No scar, no surgery. So that's fantastic.NOTES:I read so many reviews and was a little unsure how much to apply, how often, what bandages? So the following is my personal input.1) apply on the bandage. You can apply directly on skin, however the bandage will wick it away. Apply the size of the diameter of the boil to the bandage, then place bandage over boil.2) I am allergic to adhesive so I have to buy silicone bandaid, but they're great for being able to take a peak, apply more ointment, or see that it's busted. Search silicone bandages on Amazon and tons of options3) once the boil has started to drain, I HIGHLY recommend using gauze or pad vs a bandage. Bandages apply pressure and do not allow for drainage4) once open and you reapply, it stings like lemon juice on a paper cut, but dissipates quicklyI truly hope this helps someone, it was a miracle for me!

A Household Necessity
This stuff is incredible.A brief intro into how I found it: my girlfriend began working at an elderly care facility. After a month or so, we both developed large, painful puss-filled abscesses. We assume she brought an aggressive form of staph or something similar home from work on her shoes or scrubs. We tried physician prescribed antibiotics, which were mostly effective. However, the antibiotics would only cause some abscesses to disappear and reappear a week or so later once the drug-resistant microbes reestablished a population and the infection resumed. I began to look elsewhere for a permanent solution. The internet is crawling with house remedies, but most proved useless, and the rest only partially effective. Then, I bought a tube of this. Three days later, our abscesses were completely drained and healing. Any time we would begin to develop another, we would put a bandaid slathered in this ointment on it and a day or two later, they were either gone or at a head/draining.It's not just limited to abscesses. I've tested it on insect/spider bites, an infected cut, splinters, a hangnail... really anything that involves inflamed skin or pus. Just rub it on and cover it with a bandaid and forget about it.There are two major downsides to this ointment. First, it reeks after it's been on the skin for a couple hours. Nothing strong enough to offend anyone near you, but strong enough to wrinkle your nose when you peel the bandaid off. Second, it stains. I now have "skid-marks" on my favorite pair of undies because the bandaid came loose on my cheeks and this ointment got rubbed in.So, to sum: great for you, bad for clothes. Use it, but don't let it get near your favorite pair of undies or you'll end up like me.

Life saver, everyone needs this
This stuff is an absolute necessity in any first aid kit and in your travel bag. It smells like asphalt and looks like tar and I have no idea how or why it works so well but if you get bit by an insect it WILL reduce inflammation, draw the poison and heal. My husband and dog were bit by a brown recluse spider and as soon as we found this stuff and applied it immediately started to heal. I give this as gifts. No joke.

Old timer medicine.
My granny used to use this for splinters and bringing pimples to a head! I had forgotten all about it until I an across it in a cvs. The drug store brand worked great. This kind was much more “stiff” and not quite as effective (ie: took longer and and an extra application) but who knows if that was the product or the type of injury we were using it for. I know the one I got from Amazon didn’t spread or penetrate as easily. Maybe it was an old box.

Holy Grail!
I don’t normally write reviews but I felt compelled this time. For years, I have consistently gotten small to medium cysts on my private area (this is possibly due to my type II diabetes). On this occasion, however, I was experiencing incredible pain from an especially large cyst. After reading some reviews, I decided to order this product. Ordinarily, I would pay a visit to a local urgent care but because of my decreased immune system, the crowds concern me. I received my order on 3/12 but because I did not read the directions, I did not apply correctly. So on the morning of 3/13, I applied correctly, keeping the product in place until the morning of 3/14. On the morning of 3/14, I showered and reapplied. On inspection at around 10pm on 3/14, I was pleasantly surprised to see the cyst had burst! I’M PAIN FREE IN LESS THAN 36 HOURS after the 1st (correct) application! This item will ALWAYS be a staple 1st aid product in my home! JUST ORDER IT!…you won’t be disappointed!
