Squirrel Feeder with Metal Roof - Natural Wood with Extra Long Feeding Platform - Great Outdoor Wildlife Feeding Station Encouraging Squirrels to your Garden

I got tired of watching squirrels try to get food from bird feeders so I bought a squirrel feeder. Very well made feeder. The squirrels and I really liked it. I also treated the outer surfaces of the feeder with teak oil to prevent the wood from absorbing water.UP: After several months of use, I can talk about the shortcomings of the feeder: 1. The bottom fastening is very weak, it fell off and I had to use nails to replace the brackets on which it was held. 2. The lid freezes to the body and the squirrels cannot open it and begin to chew on the feeder. Therefore, in cold weather, I opened the feeder myself every morning.

Great little box unfortunately the little Perspex window isn't strong enough! I put it out on Sunday night and by Monday morning the nuts where all over the floor and Perspex window broken. I don't like to think that my Squirrels are total Thugs but the Perspex was flimsy! 🐿️

Added a few photo's of Cyril The Squirrel ~ bought this feeder back in December 2021 and thought the wood is a little thin but here we are in April 2022 and it's holding up well & i purchased this particular feeder because it had a large base for the squirrel to feed. I was having a problem with Cyril hanging off the bird feeders & constantly checking out the bird table but did not want to deter him from the garden, took him about three and half weeks to figure out how to get to the food. We now have three squirrels visiting the garden daily and none of them are on the bird table or feeders ~ it's very entertaining when they all turn up at the same time ~ I have tried Squirrel food but have found they leave a lot of it so i now put in a few monkey nuts and they just love it when i add mixed nuts ~ walnuts ~ brazil ~ almonds etc..

My squirrel visitor likes his monkey nuts. This makes it easy for me to feed him and watch his antics. He soon got the hang of lifting the roof to get the spoils. Great product works better than I expected.

The media could not be loaded. We bought this product because we had noticed a squirrel in the Garden. It took a while until it was used firstly by Magpies who initially broke the box, but after repairing it it is working just great. The build is not the best. The perspex window is a little small and the Flap doesn’t sit properly, therefore it’s not watertight which means the seeds/nuts get wet and start sprouting. I don’t think the box will last but for the price it’s OK…..we will just have to buy a replacement in the future. Could be built better

The box itself is sturdy enough and the squirrels took to it quickly. However, the wooden part of the roof warped and went black after only one day of wet weather, and with only one hole to screw in place, it has a tendency to move around and end up skewed if the squirrels get a bit rambunctious. Two holes would be sturdier. I'll probably drill another hole so it stays in place. So all in all, ok but I've definitely had better, as the lid warping was disappointing.Edit: after only a couple of months the bottom has completely fallen away from the lid and back section that was fixed to the fence, breaking the perspex window in the process. So didn't last long at all. Wouldn't recommend.

The media could not be loaded. O my goodness, no longer had I painted it pink and attached it to my fence and filled with nuts and Squizzer was there- definitely wonderful to watch and brightens up your day - definitely recommended
