Valet PRO Long Reach Wheel Brush

As supplied, the brush was a little too wide for my alloy spokes but a quick squeeze in a vice soon took care of that. Although not cheap, this brush is absolutely what I should have bought years, and around 5 conventional wheel brushes, ago. It reaches right to the back of the rims and only misses reaching fully into the wheel nut recesses but I've always kept a small soft brush for that area. It's a little tight around the front brake caliper too but if this is a problem you can always roll the car forward clean anything you missed. Neither of these matters detract from the brush itself. The extension from the handle is plastic coated so there is nothing to damage the wheel surface. The brush is very strong, very well made and I expect it last for a very long time.

Using it on deep BMW spoked wheels.. they have been hard to keep in good shape.. but the car doesn't look fully clean unless I do the inside of the wheels. Previous short brushes have caused me to skin my knuckles trying to get in behind the brake callipers etc - I used this long reach brush for the first time today and it was great .. just what I need. I used the old smaller brush to get right behind the front of the spokes and cleaned the front face of the wheel with a normal sponge. I obviously can't comment yet on it's longevity .. but if I have any problems I'll come back and update the review.. first use.. very pleased!

Very good weapon for cleaning alloy wheels with wide rims. Bristles are not super-stiff but work well in conjunction with your choice of cleaner (I use Bilberry). Long handle avoids whacking your knuckles whilst cleaning and plastic coating on the wire part of the handle protects the wheel itself.You still need another (stiffer) brush to clean inside the wheel nut recesses, around the valve etc but it does the tricky bit of cleaning the rims inside very nicely. Wooden handle is nice to hold and you don't have to grip it really hard to stop it twisting as you use it.

As a front drive detailer, I use two brushes to clean my alloys, this long reach wheel brush and the  Valet PRO Chemical Resistant Non Scratch Soft Brush  for the alloy face. Both brushes are the best I have ever bought for doing this deep clean job and well worth the money.The long reach brush is designed to easily fit between the wheel spokes and brake caliper to clean the area behind. The metal wire strip attaching the brush to the handle is coated in plastic and this strip makes the brush springy enough so a decent amount of pressure can be applied to agitate effectively to clean the dirtiest part of the wheel without making scratches.I've found the shape of the brush head allows cleaning of a large surface area behind the spokes and unlike conical brushes there no need for a rubber brush tip, so no issues about losing this and scratching the wheel.Although this brush can also be used to clean the face of the alloy I prefer a metal free brush for this job, so I use the Valet PRO Non-Scratch Soft Brush. This again has just the right amount of bristle stiffness to enable effective cleaning of difficult areas like around the wheel nuts and tyre valve.The downside is the handles on both brushes are made out of very nicely smoothed but untreated wood. An application of wood oil or polish on the handles addresses this. It won't make them perform any better but will protect them from water stains.So, a well-deserved 5 stars for each brush. Sadly the plastic sheath that protects your allow wheel from the steel shaft has came off and now the brush is unusable without damaging the alloys. Having only used it possibly 4 times, this was unacceptable.
