First I tried the cheap knock-off versions that were half the price, Don't bother. This one seems heavy for its size (a good sign.) And is just so much better & safer to use it's no contest. The flame has a fine control to it, you can get it as small as you want or make it really huge! Seems great at managing heat as well, its not getting as hot during use you'd think, a sign of good design.For anyone wondering YES it seems to work on other notched butane cans designed for cooking. I'm using mine on some "gas one" cans that are working great.

This is ONLY the top torch part and does not include a canister of fuel. Based off the description, cost, photos and reviews I assume this came with a can as well. Unfortunately, it does not so I cannot use it without spending and additional $30 and waiting another 1-2 weeks for a pack of cans. While I know it’s not the most helpful to leave reviews when you haven’t used the product, I found this to be pretty misleading and I wouldn’t have purchased this had it been clearer.

This has replaced using a broiler to brown up the top of many preparations. More control than a broiler.

Trying to run a BBQ on the top of the hill on a windy day was a huge pain until I got this baby!

I tested like 5 different versions/brands of this product and this one was by far the best. It's only one that didn't feel like it would fail in a week. Can't talk about long term durability yet but first impressions are very positive.
