Hi, excuse the question but can you smoke weed in the pipe?

I don't see why not. I'm a big cigar smoker. I cut pieces of cigar off and use it instead of pipe tobacco (which I hate), not that I have ever partaked in the "good pipe weed", but you'll love it!

Does this have a filter?

It does not come with a filter. The hole in the stem is about 4 mm diameter. What I am going to tell you may sound like a joke but it is not. I learned that if you roll --as a tight cilinder-- a VERY SOFT and THIN piece of paper (for this particular pipe, about 4 cm x 3 cm), you can make an EXTREMELY and EFFECTIVE filter for pipes. You can make your own filters ANY size, depending on the diameter and depth permited by the stem. It is amazing how well it works and it is cheap. ¡Much more effective than the commercial filters!. Please, please, this is NOT a joke. Use any paper with the consistency of toilet paper. After smoking it will retain wetness and it will be terrifying brown. Please, it is not a joke.

how do you clean this?

Dip the cloth in mild soap or detergent dissolved in water and clean the pipe.

What is shaft made of?

The shaft is wooden just like the bowl. It’s my favorite pipe.
