Wish I Had this sooner
I live in So Cal and recently planted a tree that has been struggling with the insane summer heat we have been having. I set this up and no joke, in less than a week it is now covered in green leaves like it was when I bought it (I have filled the ring 3 times total). I was so impressed that I went ahead and ordered a couple more for some of the younger trees on our property that have been struggling and are harder to water for various reasons. It feels pretty sturdy, it's held up so far to excessive heat and strong harsh sun. I am interested to see when I will need to replace it, but assuming it gives me a year or so, it'll be worth it in the time and water that it saves me.I do wish I could change the location of the little spouts the water comes out of, but it seems to be working out regardless. It holds water for a few hours which works for me, I didn't need it to last longer than that, it's still watering deep at a slow drip, much more thoroughly and deeper than it did when I was hand watering.

Drains very quickly, but is helping with the deep watering.

Not a slow release
There is nothing slow about this watering ring. It was empty within an hour. I have wasted my money.

It’s OK but very hard to fill and empties quicker than advertised
I bought this for a new small tree I planted. A upright water bag was too big for the tree. When filling, all there is is a plug you open and the opening does not fit a garden hose so you have to hold it and aim the stream of water to try to fill. When you get to a certain point it will get heavy so the opening is hard to hold without squeezing and the water is even harder to get into the hole. When filled, the water dissipates within a few hours not days like advertised. Would not buy again

It works but wish it was better designed
This is a decent solution for low branched trees and shrubs if you don't have time to water, but it could be much better.Pros-It made with Heavy durable material. It was easy to fill with a sprayer attachment on a hose.Cons- It is difficult to move when full-15 gal=125lbs. There are only two release valves on bottom and the water comes out quickly, it was empty after only 2 hours for me. The release valves are on opposite sides so positioning on a slope is important if you want it to empty fully. Also, the filling valve is very difficult to close once its full-oh well, you wanted the ground wet anyway. There is no information or instruction in the packaging.

Impossible to fill and doesn’t work
The product was used to slowly water a shrub. It is very difficult to fill as the entry port is the wrong size and shape for a standard hose. There are two very small drip outlets which do not release the water unless you stand there and shake the tube. Basically it does not serve the intended purpose.

ZERO STARS!!
This bag was completely drained in less than a hour. Why Amazon has not remove this item from the website should be the issue!!Don’t buy it, if you do just know you will be the one dropping it off for a refund. The bad reviews are spot on.

I don't have a new tree, but this saved my older rhododendron from draught
To be fair I didn't use this exactly the way it is intended. Along with much of the country, my garden suffered from a severe lack of rain this summer. I woke up early and watered everything I could reach regularly, and sometimes again late at night. I have a rhododendron in a fenced in area that I have to climb out a window to access, so watering it is difficult and time consuming. Watching it slowly suffer and die was heartbreaking, so I was eager to give this a try when I saw it. I don't think I could carry this thing out of my window if it was completely full, but any water is better than nothing. Because I never filled this all the way I can't say for sure if it lasts as long as it claims, but I did not get the impression it would. For my purposes this worked perfectly anyway. The material seems durable, and I expect to get at least a few years out of it. Unfortunately, I think drought might be a regular part of life with climate change, so I am grateful to have this. If I ever need another one, I will not hesitate to purchase this one again. At just under $15 this is a great value and a very small investment to save a nearly 60-year-old rhododendron, and my morning view.

Useful tool to keep newly planted trees happy
Whilst this product is a little pricey it does the job as advertised. It is quick to fill up, quite discrete (being brown and placed on brown soil) and releases the after slowly, deeply feeding the tree as absvertised.I am using it for a stand alone newly planted Holly tree, however in areas and f the garden where I have planted a selection of new trees a soaker hose is much quicker and more effective/efficient.
