is the shell hard and able to withstand travel or is it a soft material?

It is hard and also comes with a soft clear plastic protector to use on it while traveling to protect from scuffing.

Has anyone flown with this? I’m curious about the craftsmanship when being tossed around by airport personnel.

I have flown with it, they did great except I did reinforce the handles into the baggage because I was afraid that the handles were a little fragile because I knew it would get thrown around but they have held up great

How long is the handle when fully extended . Most seem to short
