Pippa Park Raises Her Game (1)

Just finished reading Pippa Park Raises Her Game and I have to say, I thoroughly enjoyed it ~ Yun did a terrific job on her first book!!! I bought it originally for my 12 your old daughter, wasn't certain she would relate to or even like it because she hates all sports that use balls LOL so basketball, yes definitely uses a ball, wasn't sure she would be willing to give it a try but after I read it and raved about it she started to read it ~ on her own! I would walk into her room and there she was ~ head in this book!! As a mom I was thrilled ~ she is reading, I always have to force her to read, she is a super smart girl but reading is not her favorite thing to do, so imagine my surprise when I walked into her room time and time again and there she was READING😍 She couldn't put this book down, she loved the characters and wanted more so she kept reading, I am beyond thrilled that I didn't have to keep nagging her to "do your 30 minutes of reading" because she was ALWAYS reading, and MORE than her required 30 minutes! Honestly could not believe it - if you have a child that won't read, try giving them this book, see what happens!! Thank you Ms Yun, because of you I didn't have to argue with my daughter to read - even if only for a few days, I will take it 🤣😂We both found this book to be funny, packed with Middle School drama which she could totally relate to, and even though Pippa plays basketball, this book is so much more than basketball, to me (and my daughter) we felt the friendship drama was spot on, and what Pippa did or didn't do to fit in was also right on target, along with the family drama! I don't want to write much more because I don't want to give anything away, but if you have a picky reader I truly believe this is one book they will find hard to put down!! Ms Yun, I hope book number 2 is in the works! We are fans!!

Fun read for girls!

The Pippa Park series is charming, well-written, and exactly what tweens should be reading!I got both books in the Pippa Park series and the fill-in journal for my niece on the recommendation of a friend of mine, and I am so glad I did. This series made the perfect gift and definitely helped secure my status as the best aunt ever. She devoured it all in one weekend and couldn’t stop raving about it.The Pippa Park series is great because it emphasizes the importance of staying true to yourself, which I think is such an important message– especially for young girls entering tweenhood like my niece. Readers can see themselves in Pippa and will learn from both her triumphs and her mistakes.The journal captures the feel-good messages and heart of Pippa’s story with fun and engaging activities, but also encourages kids to get creative, reflect, and engage with what they read on a deeper level. My niece loved finding out which Pippa character she’s most like!I highly recommend the Pippa Park series for middle school readers, and to any aunts looking to become their niece’s favorite person.

My granddaughter requested this and I had it sent to her house, so I have no photo but she loves this series so she’s a happy girl which makes me happy. Good value. Good book.
