A nice sized book with 3 great stories. Excellent for any fans of Asterix

I loved Asterix as a kid (growing up in the UK) and so I got these for my little one, thinking she might too. It's still Asterix - the stories are funny and smart, the drawings so characterful and and dynamic - so, to be fair, 3 starsBut the TRANSLATION from this publisher is criminally bad. Had I not read the UK published version in my youth I wouldn't be aware, but as I have...It starts with the druid. Here he's called Panoramix (his French original name). In other English versions, he's called Getafix - which is funnier, I hope we can agreePerhaps the publishers were concerned that this would lead to a generation of US children forever being lost to heroin addiction? That same moronic sledgehammer of literal thinking has been applied to the translation. It's difficult to express how clunky, clumsy and wit-free it is...But for example, please see a page from this version vs. one I found online of the Hachette published version. The Hachette version is more natural, adds in a couple of puns and actually MAKES SENSE, unlike this Papercutz versionSo in short - even if it costs more - get the Hachette version! I know I will be from now on...

Great product

I grew up on these books. These hard covers are perfect for those of you wanting to collect the whole series to last for many years to come. Great gift for the kids too.

Buyer beware, I should have read the product description more carefully. This volume is significantly smaller than the regular Omnibus. Place alongside the other volumes, not only do they NOT match in size, but the yellow/orange spine make them stand out in a bad way.

The omnibus kindle series of the Asterix series as a very good value and a great way to see the artistry from this old but not showing its age graphic comic series. The stories are funny and entertaining as a group of Gaul's, living in what now is France, hold out against Julius Caesar's troops with the help of a strengthening potion made by the village druid. The first 9 volumes of the stand alone series have been put into 3 omnibus volumes and I hope they put further omnibus volumes for kindle out.

quality is top notch. the text is different--more politically correct? or more accurate translation from french? original--getafix; now--panoramix. orginal--fattie; now--fat guy.
