Great light but Get the other one
I didn’t realize this was the low light/high function light. I prefer the one that just has 1 brightness, on or off. Same construction on both though and very solid.

Great dual output all-around flashlight for indoor or outdoor use
I haven't bought a Surefire flashlight in a while so I thought I would get one of these newer 600-lumen dual output lights for no particular reason other than to buy a new flashlight. After using it for a month now I have given it my seal of approval. Why do I like it? The dual output makes it a good all-around flashlight for indoor and outdoor use. It has good spill for close up use such as hiking brushy trails and the deep reflector gives it a nice long distance throw as well. It has an anti-roll design so it won't roll off the kitchen table, it fits the hand comfortably, and the on/off switch requires enough pressure to operate that I won't have to worry about it accidentally coming on when it bumps into something. If you are looking for a good, easy to use, reliable, all-around flashlight that can do just about everything look no further than this nicely designed torch.

Solid light
The flashlight seems pretty solid I haven’t used it much.

You can see the Surefire difference with this light.
Value for what you’re paying for is good. Every Surefire I have bought has been used, heavily abused and always functions. I accepted that there are no aftermarket pocket clips that I would want to use on the G2X, but it’s not like you’re going to lose this in your pocket. If you want to attach this to your rucksack then a molle pouch to fit this light is easy to find. The flashlight is bright, lightweight and tough. I read through the information Surefire includes with the packaging and it says you can use UL Listed rechargeable 123’s made in America in the flashlight. The power output from rechargeables is lower than from single use only batteries. The beam is bright and will easily light up trees 150+ feet away. You won’t light up an area the way a vehicle mounted search light will, but you can certainly light up a dark parking lot, a warehouse floor or a residential street with few street lights.I do feel like Surefire could have given this light a brighter LED emitter and still stayed in the same price range.

done with Surefire
This is the second surefire disappointment. I bought my son a very expensive Surefire and it only lasted a few months. This unit for me lasted a couple months before the button broke, and that was just light household use. This is sad because I have a Surefire on my house shotgun that has served well for 10 years. Another example of sliding quality.
