BEST DEAL on a entry level steel, disc, gravel bike out there!
I just received my Giordano Trieste today and assembled it but haven't ridden it yet. Before buying I compared this to other steel gravel bikes with Shimano Claris components. I had seen a Mercier Kilo on Bikes Direct website for $650 and many others at REI for $800+. Would like more gears, but at least this Claris group has the brake cables routed under the bar tape rather than the old sticking out style. Crankset looks decent, has a hollow spindle. Wheels are quando, heavyish but again, the price was right! Wheel spacing is 135 rear, 100 front, both QR, so there are many options out there if you want to shed some spin weight on a future upgrade. My medium (listed as 54cm) weighs about 29 lbs... sure you can get in the low 20's or high teens on a good steel bike but you would need to add a couple grand to the price tag. Disc brakes are cheaper Chinese ones, but you can always buy better pads when these wear out. Add your preferred pedals, maybe a better seat and you will have plenty of enjoyable miles! I anticipate the steel frame and fork to provide a pretty sturdy, plush ride compared to aluminum/carbon. Only things I would mention is the dropouts feel cheaper (stamped whereas most bikes have machined parts). Tires are more geared to road than gravel, but those can be changed and the frame/fork are wide enough to accommodate most 700c tires, possibly even some narrow 29ers. All in all I believe (and I have been watching every major online bike retailer for months) this is the BEST DEAL out there in terms of a sport/entry level steel gravel bike. If you can handle a bit of heft in exchange for a screaming deal BUY THIS BIKE!

WRONG BRAKE CALIPERS
*Update* Still never received communication from the seller and ended up returning the bike. What a shame - it’s a nice bike, but it’s not safe without the correct brake calipers.I've attempted to contact the seller. The bike came with the wrong set of brake calipers that don't match the bike type. The bike came with calipers designed for a mountain bike and this is a road/gravel bike. This means that the cable that is attached to the brake lever and caliper is way too long and its impossible to tighten the cable to allow the brakes to function properly.

Good sturdy Bike
Good starter gravel bike. Steel body makes it little heavier but on a gravel bike that;s expected. It weighed 13.8 Kgs or 30 Lbs without any accessories on. It was mostly assembled except front wheel, handle bars, pedals, reflectors. It took some time to adjust front discs perfectly between pads. I was thinking I should have gone for medium but 700 cc small fits me well, I am 5'8". Have done 30 miles already, no complaints so far.

Took a long time to arrive and handlebar tape melted off in first day fo hot weather
The Bike took an extra 2 weeks to arrive which wasn't ideal. Then after being left outside for one hot day, the handlebar tape melted off the handlebars. After speaking to several manufacturers, I've been told this isn't normal, particularly after one day, and is a sign of poor craftsmanship. Avoid

Great for what it is!
Saw a bunch of people complaining about substandard parts etc. this seems foolish its a 450$ bike. Im an avid cyclist and own a variety of extremely expensive race road bikes, and mountain bikes. This bike is Amazing for its price, I had to replace the bar tape that came on it because it was cheap, the seat is already ripping and the tires probably wont last too long, so far ive put about 600miles on it since owning it. I love it for the city riding I am doing. The gravel bike design is great for the crappy roads and poorly maintained bike paths. Its cheap enough I wont be upset if it gets stolen, I fit a rack and pannier to it and some lights and its has been a great bike. Yeah the components are not great, and some of the parts are downright terrible(handlebar tape, seat material etc.) BUUUUTT for $450 which is what I paid for it has exceeded my expectations and has been reliable thus far only requiring a little fiddling with the brakes when I first got it and that's about it.

Horrible experience overall.1. Doesnt come with any tools in the box. You will have to invest in a toolset.2. The instruction manual for assembly is plain wrong for most tasks. I had to refer to youtube for everything.3. Front wheel assembly screw is bad quality . I had to buy my own skewer to fit the front wheel. Ive had it for a week and still isnt assembled yet because of lack of tools and poor quality parts. I am not hopeful the riding experience is going to be any better.Ive bought bikes online before and its never THIS bad.I feel like I am stuck with it now cause it too heavy to pack and return.Wouldnt recommend to anyone. Its better to spend a couple hundred more dollars and get one from a bike shop or a reputable brand online.

its okay.
I think the tire tubes they gave me were cheap because they both went flat in the first week and since replacing i haven't had a flat. i had an issue with the crank arm thread which got stripped in the first couple weeks of owning and i had to wait another couple weeks for the new part which they did send for free. The frame is a little heavy because its steel, however the parts are fantastic and the bike looks really good. When you buy a new bike go to a really good bike shop and have the gears adjusted. My gears have had a little problems now about 6 months after purchasing, but i should really have brought my bike in to resolve the issue.

Great bike
I waited a few weeks and I think this bike is great. I’m fairly new to this style of bike and needed help with assembly. I was able to get help from a neighborhood store. My only issue was that the inner tube for the front tire went flat shortly after the initial assembly. Outside of that this has been an amazing bike. Definitely worth the price and seems great as a starter bike.
