why does kaytee use regular sunflower seeds instead of the less fatty black ones?

My guess is, and it is only a guess, the black oil sunflower seeds put more weight on the birds.

Does this come with bugs and little moths in it?

Purchased it a while back and don’t recall seeing any bugs or moths. I’m sure there may be a bug or moth that gets through at some point, but it shouldn’t harm any bird. I been buying many different Kaytee products over the years and never had an issue.

Made a huge difference!

My 5 year old Conure started plucking out his feathers. We tried hemp seed. We tried spraying him with special feather support spray. I read it was not a good idea so we stopped. Nothing worked. He’s in his same sunny window and has plenty of toys, attention and freedom out of the cage several hours a day. He has his usual main diet of pellets, a few kaytee treats toppings and millet. He also started acting aggressive and actually biting us!After trying everything I saw this Conure food and ordered. His behavior went back to normal and no more feather plucking or aggression. He must have been so irritated by the other food we were supplementing twice a day. I hope this helps someone who has experienced the same problem.

Well at least my conure will eat some of it

I bought the fiesta version hoping that it would be a little more healthy than the standard. There's definitely a few things that might conjure is eating from this fiesta that is different from the original, but overall still avoiding the fruits and vegetables. But for anyone else having trouble like me with your conure only eating seeds, this is definitely a good way to hopefully transition a little off of seeds, and gain some nutrition at least.
