A must have for fans of comic books.
This collection of the Avengers: Under Siege story is magnificently reproduced in the new Marvel Epic Collection line. It is much nicer looking than the other collected editions that Marvel has put out over the years. The colors are bright and it is very easy to read. At over 400 pages, it provides a lot of reading. The story is one of the best Avengers tales of all time, Roger Stern was on top of his game during this time.

Avengers bash!
Included some of the finest stories of that time. Loved when anamorphic the Submariner was an Avenger. Guest starring the Silver Surfer helping to save the world. Lastly the tragedy of Avengers HQ being overrun with villains and the suffering of captured Avengers, before their inevitable escape and victory.

This is one great Epic Collection
This is one great Epic Collection. Under Siege is my favorite storyline regarding the Avengers. The pages look great and it has a few extras that fans might enjoy. This one is way cheaper than the out of print versions and looks way better. Highly recommend.

Best Storyline of the 80s
I grew up with these issues. The stories from this collection are more than mere action. The development of the story and characters is superb.

Great Story
Modern writers sometimes miss the boat on a storytelling and rather shock readers. The Under Siege storyline took me back to a time when slow burns and long term planning were still cornerstones to long term character plans.

Some of the Best Avengers Ever
This collection holds Under Seige, one of the best Avengers sagas ever, and part of Roger Stern, John Buscema and Tom Palmer's memorable run. It's a fun book.

Masters of Evil, Masters of Comics
There are periods in a long-running comic title's history that become justifiably legendary, and in the latest Avengers Epic (volume 16, covering stories from 1986 and 1987), we find just such a one. Quite apart from the title storyline, which forms the climax of this collection, the issues leading up to it are almost as good. The writer of most of the stories collected here is Roger Stern, a creator who had a brilliant handle on the very different personalities that make up Earth's Mightiest Heroes. Likewise, the art is nearly all provided by the brilliant John Buscema (or to be more precise, Buscema provides the breakdowns while Tom Palmer provides the finishes). What they created was a near-impeccable run of quality superhero storytelling. It's a fun team roster at this point in time, too - Wasp leads a motley crew consisting of Captains America and Marvel, Hercules, Black Knight and Namor. Together, these assorted heroes tangle with a new Yellowjacket, get caught up in the Secret Wars II event, are manipulated into a war between different alternate Kangs, deal with Namor's image with the public, join Alpha Flight on a sortie into Atlantis, and are betrayed by a past Avenger with an axe to grind. All these tales, good as they are, lead inexorably to the main event, in which Baron Zemo leads the largest incarnation of the Masters of Evil ever seen in the taking of Avengers Mansion. It's a fantastic story filled with triumph and despair as the Avengers suffer perhaps their greatest defeat, with consequences for all.Extras include the introduction from the original Under Siege TPB as well as original art by Buscema and Palmer, but you should need no more encouragement than the quality of the comics on offer here. If you don't already own these, there's never been a better time!
