Surviving The Aftermath - Day One Edition (PS4)

I have played this game in PC and loved it and wanted to play on my ps5 so bought the copy. Took a while to arrive

What a terrible game wish I could have returned it…

Great survival game, nice story behind it a lil short, could defo do with some additional buildings and better development timeline. If you like frost punk you will like this and probably wish the 2 would have a baby.

Following a world wide catastrophe, your mission is to build a new colony, attract more people to join it, and make it strong enough to stand up to threats. You can select the difficulty level which means that the tougher the level the less land and resources there are and more catastrophes such as meteor showers, heatwaves and nuclear winters! There are loads of buildings available to build to grow your settlement and more become available with advances in knowledge and tech. In addition to normal colonists who do hunting and gathering, there are specialists (scientists, fighters, scavangers and scouts) who you use to defend the colony against threats and to explore the world beyond, gathering resources, finding other colonies, and picking up research points which are essential for knowledge advances. Also, various motley characters will pitch up at the colony who can either help or hurt you and you have decisions to make both minor and major which could go badly if you make the wrong call! I'd had hours of fun playing this game - it is challenging but enjoyable.

I like the idea of the game. The premise of it is survival, much like fallout shelter or this war of mine. Sadly, the one thing that is putting me off completely is the size of the text on the game. It's important so it's needed. It's way way way too small. I have a 44 inch screen and that's too small to be able to read the text unless you're sat with your eyes touching the screen.The game is a little tricky and no doubt your colony will die out a few times before you get the hang of it. You need people to build everything but it takes time as you need to collect building materials and you need people strong enough to survive. Your colony will probably die a few times before you get the hang on it.It could be me, but because of the small text within the actual gameplay, I can't really see the tutorial info so therefore it's taking me much longer to learn then with other games. If you've got a 70 inch screen, you'll be fine!!!!!Would recommend the game but only two stars because of the important text needed.
