Works great
Live on a lake with huge goose population. Geese pretty much gone in 4 days

Power cord CANNOT BE INSTALLED OUTDOORS
This device CANNOT BE INSTALLED OUTDOORS. Its power adaptor does not plug into an outlet that has a weatherproof cover, which is required by electrical code. This is because the orientation of the adaptor's prongs forces the adaptor to not fit in any weatherproof single-gang in-use outlet cover. The only way to plug it in outdoors is to expose the outlet and adaptor to rain, which is dangerous. Bird-X's response was to make the outlet bigger myself or return the product. If you intend to put this product outside and you do not have a double-gang outlet, you will need to find and buy a compatible power adapter on your own.

Works initially, not for long term
Tried this for a small retention pond though it is plenty loud, the first day it seemed to work for geese, but they are too smart. Get yourself a good laser pointer instead and you won't regret it.Our dogs freaked out when we tried the coyote noise. Very expensive with not great effectiveness

Not sure if this was designed as a mating call or not...
I bought this for the facility where I work. I will be honest and say that we have had seasonal geese here from what understand, for years. That is why I am being patient with it.However, if it is working, I'd say the closest comparison would be to a citronella candle and mosquitoes. I had it by the reflection pond hoping the sound would carry over the water to the lawn. Nope. Then, I noticed that they were hanging out on the roof. I placed it up there, and for half a day it worked. I don't know if they are getting used to it, or stay on the perimeter of its annoyance.

effective and easy to assemble
It is early days but the Goose Buster seems to be very effective so far in discouraging the infestation of resident geese on my small island in a lake in Ontario. It is very easy to set up and the variety of the random distress calls should keep the geese guessing for quite a while. It might be good if it were possible to buy a recording of additional distress calls to add to the variety, since is suspect that after a while the geese will cotton on to the fact that the pre-programmed distress calls are repeating.

Doesn't work
I read the article in Audibon Magazine and thought this sounded like it could really work. Unfortunately the geese barely pay any heed and continue grazing and pooping. The only thing that works is when I chase them into the lake and pursue them in my kayak, eventually forcing them to fly away. That sort of harassment generally keeps them away for a day or two but they always come back. There is no short cut. On the plus side the device is well made and the goose sounds can be heard clear across our lake, but now it is disconnected and useless.

Wasn't sure about it at first, but...
It took a few days, but the annoying geese moved on to other pastures
