The handles have internal springs and have both an up and down lever action when fitted.
I bought these handles to replace a broken set on a very old internal double glazed door. I was delighted to find that they were easy to fit and they work beautifully.

Great set of handles
Reasonably priced and great quality. I purchased them to replace the handles on our sliding doors between the kitchen and conservatory. Fit nice, easy to install and look really modern due to the black finish.

Bought a pair of these. A central screw has to be removed from each arm in order to fit. The screw came out of one but the other wouldn’t budge. Couldn’t be bothered returning so bought another pair. This time both screws were in too tight to remove. Tried everything including WD 40. No luck and since the screws are made from very soft metal they are now stripped. Absolutely useless! Waste of money.
