Yes it smells, but I soaked it laundry detergent for 24 hours and the smell is gone. It’s very effective and easy to use. Fits a wide range of sizes and has a good range of weight. I have the 4-10lb version.

I am very glad that I did not pass this up because of the negative reviews. I did a lot of research before buying this vest and I am confident I made a good decision. There was a faint smell when I first opened it but it went away. I don't know if some vests smell more than others or if some people are just sensitive but I barely noticed the smell and it did not transfer to my clothes. Having the ability to adjust the weights is great but I've maxed out the weight so that isn't a big plus for me anymore. It is pretty comfortable considering it weighs 32 pounds. It fits very well and does not move around (I'm 6 feet and 210 pounds). It is a bit challenging to put on and take off because it does weigh 32 pounds (but it is hard to blame the vest for that). I've had no issues with leakage of the sand. A big plus is that you can store your phone and keys in the front (many competing products have the storage in the back). If I wanted to find something to be critical about, it would be that maybe offering other colors would be nice...I live in Arizona and yes, I walk in the heat with it and black is probably not the best color although it may not make much difference.

Normally, I would give it a five except that the odor is suffocating. I cannot wear it on my indoor treadmill. I can only wear it outside because the odor dissipates in the fresh air. But the overall product is good. I was waiting for it to dissipate. I’ve had it for almost a month now still potent.

Update 7.13.25 I am upping the stars to 5 as it's not their fault i have a hard time seeing the clips, that is just me. The vest does exactly what it is designed for. I wish I'd gotten the heavier one so I could use it to work my way up to a heavier weight. I underestimated how much I could put on at once, but I still get great benefit from this one.I bought this vest to "up" my walking game. I walk 10,000 steps a day with 1/2 hr of aerobics. However, I wanted to "up" my game in terms of aerobic benefit, and this had delivered nicely as it raises my heart rate without a lot of additional effort. I can very lightly jog in place to get just where I want to be.I got this also because I like the option to start lower and move up. It turns out though I didn't need that, but still I was glad to have it. In hindsight I wish I had gotten the heavier option to start with but, live and learn, this works for me now so I'll stick with it.The only thing I don't like about it so far is the clips are black both male and female parts so it makes it difficult for me visually when lining them up to click in place while angling the vest to reach them. This is just me though, I am sure.There is the chemical smell that others have mentioned but I expected it and it does seem to have lessened after a few days.In terms of "comfort", well, it doesn't chafe or cut into me so I it has enough padding, that's about all I can say. And if I don't wear a shirt it stays in place thanks to the rubber coating on the inside of the straps.I am very happy with it for now, I took a star off because of the smell and not being able to see easily to join the clips, but those are relatively minor problems in my opinion.

I purchased this for my daughter who loves to run and is always interested in fitness. She weighs 110-115 and has a small frame at 5'2". She requested the 6-10lb vest. When it arrived, I cringed, thinking it felt too heavy. It was perfect for her, though. The weights are small and can be removed from small little pockets. So, you can adjust to what you want. She put vest on and loved it. It had sturdy buckles and was adjustable so she could fit it to her liking. Comfortable. She was excited to use this on her runs. She said fit was great. I paid $39 for it and that was a good value for a small price.

I wanted to love this vest but I’ve had it outside since I got it 2.5 months ago and it still SMELLS AWFUL. I’d return it but I missed the return window hoping it’d get better. I just ordered another brand. Besides the smell it is a great vest. Fits great and it’s comfortable. I like the adjustable weights. The smell is awful though.

I was nervous to get a weighted vest, as I am a plus size woman and was afraid it wouldn't fit. It *does* fit me, (42D)/2XL, but there isn't much more room to expand. I wouldn't be able to wear it over a sweatshirt or coat. The vest is comfortable and I really like that you can add weights as you get stronger. It does smell a bit - I left it in the garage for a week to air it out, but it still has a rubber/plastic smell to it when I wear it. Hoping that goes away.
