Q: I thought crystal has lead in it...how can this be crystal without lead??

It's glass, not crystal. In order to be called "crystal" there does have to be some lead content (according to Google) and the description says it is lead-free. The description uses "glass" except in one instance where it says "crystal glass", but I think that is more of a descriptive concerning clarity and sparkle rather than saying it's made of crystal.

Q: Is it microwave safe?

Mine arrived broken so I wouldn't use it in the microwave. It is very pretty will probably order another one.

Q: A few reviews say it doesn't fit a standard US stick of butter, is this true?

True in my experience. The quality is wonderful but I returned ours because the lid smushed the top of a standard stick of butter.
