I should start by saying that this product DOES keep bird seed dry. However it has otherwise been a disappointment because:1) If it is really windy outside, it blows away. It is like a little plastic parachute that catches the wind. The open hook does not help it to stay attached on windy days.2) The wingnut on the top rusts quite quickly and cant make it tricky to take apart to clean or adjust.3) It is not in any way squirrel or large bird proof. I guess if you put the top and bottom really close together that might deter them but then the little birds have a hard time getting in and out. See the attached video demonstrating the lack of squirrelproofedness.I also question whether the plastic would make it through a winter; we have only had this one up since the spring. I would not be surprised to see it blow away in the winter wind, land on the ground and crack into pieces. I guess we'll find out! I am really happy with this feeder. I've been having trouble trying to find a way to feed my bluejays peanuts out-of-shell but pigeons come and eat everything. Finally I tried this, because the level of the baffle can be adjusted so large birds like pigeons cant get in. And the price was right. To my happy surprise, this feeder is made with care and attention to durability, strength and endurance. I'm really impressed. Even the hole in the dish where the pole screws into, has a metal thing inserted in it so that the pole screws into metal, not just plastic. Also the dome is excellent. It's much large than the dish so keeps out rain etc. I love this feeder and would recommend it to anyone for little birds. Not sure yet if the bluejays will get into it, but I know the pigeons can't.

We bought this for the cardinals and blue jays that can't land on the tube feeders. Unfortunately the space between the dome edge and lip of the dish is too small for those two species to fit in even when the feeder is set up to have the space between the two at the widest. Also the feeder swings and the dish is so shallow that the food tips out in wind or if a squirrel is on the top trying to outwit the dome. It's an attractive looking feeder, just not practically designed for the birds that need an open platform to feed on.

I ordered this one by mistake, thought it was different the one i returned before, however, it was the same one. So, i thought, never mind, I just used the dome with my other feeder but it did not work with the win at all, even i tied it with a soft wire and was not much windy, it's moving like crazy!!!!!This product is useless really, outdoor bird feeder means it is outside!!!! just a bit windy, it seems to fly away!!!!! No good for anything!!!!

I liked the idea of this feeder but I lost one to the wind so I bought another one. With this one I had the chipmunks & squirrels in the feeder only to come out one that I’m sure it was the squirrel who knocked it off fell to the ground busted…very disappointed as these feeders are not cheap! Birds loved it. I would not recommend anyone purchasing.
