MSR Zing Shelter Tent

I've been putting off getting this product for years while I've been practicing my tarping skills with a wide selection of less expensive, alternate products.Just got back from 2 weeks on the Outer Banks/Ocracoke where I put the Zing to the test. In a word "AWESOME"!You'll need some longer pegs for sandy soils, but the std. MSR pegs that come with it should work in non-beach settings. They are my favorite pegs for my tents, etc. Also, in windy setups, I found that setting the guy lines far out (MSR gives you plenty of cord for each corner, use it) really helps keep the corner points secure.The bag is adequate for replacing the tarp, so you don't have the hassle of having to fold/roll with great precision just to get it back in the bag. Set up is pretty straight forward; helps to have a helper in a breeze. It helps if you use the guy line pockets, especially when fighting a breeze, they keep the cords from tangling when the flaps are beating in the breeze before being secured. Watch the setup video online...very helpful.We fled in the face of Hurricane Arthur, so I didn't get a chance to test it in hurricane conditions

I like MSR products but this one is not worth the money. Within 24 hours of being setup one pole broke with little to no wind set up in my back yard. With 8-foot poles the center height was 6-feet. Would have expected slightly higher given the length of the end poles. The pockets for the guide lines are not useful because the Velcro is to short to hold the pouch shut. The line kept falling out while I was trying to fold the tarp to send it back. I was disappointed to see a loop on the back of tarp for a additional guide line but no line or stake was provided for it. It was only shipped with 7 guide lines and stakes but has a spots for 8. This additional tie down would have increased the center height because it would have caused tension between the two poles and probably would have kept the pole from breaking. Would not recommend for the money.

I've wanted to try one of these out for years and am really glad I found a great deal on Amazon. This product is well made of good materials and will work well as a picnic table cover and supplemental shelter for family car camping. My only complaint would be that there weren't enough guy lines included for all points. I tried the MSR Ultralight stakes/guylines and they of course weren't adequate and snapped in spring winds. 550lb. parachute cord works fine.

Great for those wet weather days and very warm days ... setting the shelter over my MSR Hubba Hubba simplifies breaking down my tent in the rain and staying cool during those hot summer days.

MSRの黄色いタープに憧れて、購入。とにかく大きいです。でも大きさの割には軽いと思います。夏は中に熱がこもるので、もう１本ポールを増やして風通しを良くしています。ただ、強風の時にかなり強くタープを張ったのですがポールが真ん中から折れて大変な事になりました。ショック。笑

ジングはすごく欲しい物だったので、手に入った時は凄く嬉しくはしゃいでしまいました^^;本当に感謝します。ありがとう❗️
