what is the difference between this one that has the side guide rollers and is cast iron and one that is made from steel with out the side rollers?

This one is a very high quality unit and very low profile. I purchased these for a chemical plant facility that requires American made rigging equipment, and these are made in the USA. The steel ones that I looked at were generic China made lower quality units.

My beam is a wide flange . Does it fit a flange that is not tapered?

Will this trolley work on wide flange 5” H beam?

It will fit a 5" flange width with a small alteration. The bolt that comes with this trolley will only allow it to fit up to a 3.5" flange width. We recommend purchasing an longer bolt and additional washers from your local hardware store to accommodate your flange width. Use a Grade 5 or higher bolt.
