Gloss or matte finish? I would say neither. Once it is dry, the stuff is absolutely invisible. I put two coats on my new stone patio and anticipated some noticeable change. Nothing. You'll know it is there, however, when something capable of staining is eventually spilled. A little soap and water and the problem is solved. I saved the empty containers and marked them clearly with the application date. That way, I remember to order more every other year because the sealer is invisible and gives no hint that it is worn or fadding.

Q: The suggestion is to apply more than 1 coat. Can i apply the heavy duty kind first followed by the bulletproof to give it a little shine? Thank you

Hello Mauli, You can apply the heavy duty stone sealer followed by the bulletproof sealer from Stonetech. These 2 sealers, are called impregnating sealers. This means that these sealer fill the pours of the stone, these sealers will not affect the look of the stone. So unfortunately these sealer will not give the stone any shine at all.

The new bullet proof allows you to spray the product on to the surface you are sealing. However I have found that putting it into a container, then using a sponge, apply to the surface. Let dry and then whip with a small amount on a good quality paper towel as to buff the surface. The last can be repeated to even out the sealer. Wait 24 hours then use. This is a very good product if applied properly. If spraying you might want to apply twice. Note darker stones do not need a sealer. This product will not stop etching, and anything can penetrate the surface if left on for more than 12 hours.

According to the manufacture's Product Data Sheet it has a shelf life of 2 years past manufacture date if factory sealed and stored at temperatures >50°F (10°C) and <90°f (32°c).
