what is the smallest adjustable size down from 120mm? and in what increments?

They go as small as 20mm and in 5mm increments. They are the best clamps I've used for cv joints. I've been a professional master mechanic since 1976. I've worked on over priced german and italian exotic super cars most of my career. Trust me you won't find a better clamp for tight locations.

How thick is the band?

As we indicated in the product details, the band thickness is 0.6 mm and wideness is 7mm.

Will they work for a polaris atv? The clamps I got with my new cv boots are junk and I foresee them coming off

Yes. I bought this set just fo replacing the axle boots on my Polaris rzr 900. They should work on any boot out there. Just use the proper banding tool.

Can these be wrapped around a boot that's in place or do they need to slip over the end?

It can be done both ways. You can stretch open the clamp and wrap the band (strip) around the boot and close the clamp with a proper tool to the desired size within the range or slip over the end, if you can.
