Behringer Xenyx 1204USB Mixer with USB & MICROAMP HA400 Ultra-Compact 4 Channel Stereo Headphone Amplifier

It's Behringer not sure what else to say that's not already been said in other reviews. For the price it is a great starter mixer with a LOT of options that you will not find in similar products with the same price point. Can be used with Mac or Windows pc so it can be used for your home studio or as a mixer if your a DJ. The only negative I can really list is the learning curve is kinda steep for beginners at first but that's because there are so many options so I don't view it as a negative really.

I originally wanted a product with four channels maximum, two ideally. Plenty of interfaces had 2 channels or less, but EQ, effects loops, mute, solo, and other features were lacking. If there was something like that out there, I did not see it.I opted for the 4-channel version of the product, and wondered why it did not work. Apparently, it has limitations, and the USB was not "two way". That is puzzling, because why have the feature if the USB was only one way? So I returned it, and bought the one being reviewed now.At first, I thought this board had the same issue. I spent hours trying to understand why I could monitor all sources, but applications on the PC would not pick up the analog signal. Drivers and trying to determine what the devices were was tricky. It may be easy for others, but it has been almost 20 years since using audio gear like this.I finally got the analog to work, but it happened randomly.As for the quality of the board, it is quiet for my particular application. I like the digital output, without having to deal with the limitation of the analog inputs and outputs in the computer. Yes, I could have opted for a high end sound card with better analog, but I am not looking to produce the next Soundcloud hit, so I do not want to invest in more gear than I need. I like the feel of the pots. The faders are a tad slick, but still very nice. Options for monitoring is really nice. It has room to grow if I want to someday add a reverb or other outboard gear. It's nice quality for the price.I want to reiterate I really did not want 12 channels. A four channel with the same feature set would be really great. Perhaps product development can see this and consider doing that. Unless, again, I missed a whole class of products.Is this necessary for the Twitch user? No. Is it nice to have? Yes. So recommendation is based on your needs. My needs were very simple.

I have owned a Eurorack MX1604A 12-channel for over 10 years which I had bought used at the time. Something weird was going on with the RCA main outs, so I picked up the Xenyx 1204USB to have the USB option. My thoughts on the new purchase:- The Eurorack MX1604A is branded a "12-channel" mixer like the Xenyx on Amazon; however, on the Behringer website, it is labeled 12-input. The Eurorack is labeled a 12-channel mixer on Behringer site, but really has 16 inputs. The QX1622USB would be the equivalent Xenyx model. But no matter.- The Eurorack is much slimmer and heavier, with the Xenyx being thicker and lighter. In my opinion, the Xenyx feels less durable since the body of the mixer is plastic rather than metal. But I will say the Xenyx does not feel cheap, just less sturdy.- The Xenyx seems to generate more noise than the Eurorack, but not excessively.- The controls on the Xenyx are more friendly (colors), although the various placement and of control knobs are quite similar on both mixers.- The power is supplied differently to the Xenyx than the Eurorack. The Xenyx comes with a power cable that is much shorter than the Eurorack's AC adapter, but the Xenyx ditches the adapter style cord with the large DC converter and goes with a more "TV" or "PC" -like plug, no converter. I think the length of the cord could be much longer so the mixer does not have sit right next to the power outlet (extension cord ...).- The USB option is fantastic, and the Traktion recording software is pretty good (you receive a redemption code once you register the mixer with Behringer). It's really nice having the in/out of the mixer in one connection, makes recording the second, third, fourth, etc. tracks so much easier with fewer connections.Overall, I'm satisfied with the purchase. It seems the durability has taken a hit, the Eurorack could take a real beating but the Xenyx might not be able to endure as much. It's a nice piece of hardware.

The sounds not too good and the main outputs L does not work after awhile.

Im a DJ an was looking for a mixer. Nice little mixer for the price. Alot of nice features on this product. The balanced XLR outs on the front is what I was searching for on a small mixer with enough Channels to run what I needed as well. For recording , podcast, DJING this will work fine. For stage performance I'd recommend a mixer with more channels if you're running more then 4 mics or instruments. 9mm sliders id say 12+db on them. sliders cover the number position mark. I gave 4 stars because I didn't receive an install disk with this product even though you can go to the manufacturer web site an download their software. I find for other customers that might not be "tech savvy" to be a problem for them if they're wanting to install the program. You can run the mixer without computer software just not the recording program an don't connect computer to mixer before you get program installed. On youtube seems to be a whole mess of confusion due to the download vs people receiving install disk that have the better outcome. Do your research on products you buy i probably read at least 1000 reviews from people who use products in a professional stand point then a mess around point of view. If you are unsure on what to get write down what you're doing if its using so many mics, instruments, so on... then buying something that "looks good" I would buy this again based on how im going to use it. I'd get another for a spare in my case.

We recently purchased this to serve as the main mixer for our internet radio show & podcast. We have 3 regular hosts + 1 guest in each segment, so the 4 XLR mic inputs are perfect for our needs.Using the stereo inputs and various aux outputs, we also play music from a PC and have mix-minus setup to take phone and skype calls via a smartphone. All of this then goes via the USB port to our streaming/recording PC (the same one that's playing our music). On top of all that, we have the headphone output connected to a small Behringer HA400 headphone amp so that all 4 of us get to hear the main mix.We use dynamic mics, but the desk does provide Phantom Power if you want to use condenser mics.The only thing that this mixer is missing, in my opinion, is a dedicated PFL (pre fader listen) button for checking input gain on the VU before setting the slider volume (I think the next model up the spec chain has this), but there is a MUTE/alternative output button on each channel, so it's really not bad for such a low price piece of kit.Overall, we're delighted with it and it has worked perfectly since we got it.

Nice compact mixer but has a couple of issues. First if you set the analogue output to give 0dbm (775mV) the level meter shows – 10db. Fortunately this can be corrected with the addition of a couple of resistors.Second problem is with the input back from the USB device. As supplied this can only be routed to the monitor but or directly to the main output. However, again with a slight mod you can make the USB source feed channels 7/8 which will give it proper EQ and a fader to do a proper mix.Finally the “compressor”. On a mixer presumable aimed at a live performance this is very very poor. I would expect with the control at max to find signals above say 0db are heavily attenuated to prevent distortion. Not so. It is not until the channel clip led is fully on IE just before clipping that the attenuation comes in. Even then it will only attenuate by 3db. HOWEVER, if your signal drops to may be -20db the compressor BOOSTS this by 10db !! this is just what you don’t want. Imagine 4 mics on stage and suddenly the overall gain increases you WILL get feedback.I don’t expect a single knob compressor to be particularly effective but this is WORSE THAN USELESS. As soon as I get the schematic diagram for this area I will be working on another mod!You could say what do you expect for the money but to get these faults corrected in production would just need component value changes so would not cost anything.

I purchased this because I bought a new capture card for a 2nd pc which is a dedicated video recording and streaming pc.I needed something that would allow for 1 mic and headset, since I didn't want to be using 2 mic's and headset's as it's just a hassle to line the audio up as it would mean recording audio on both pc's.I watched some YouTube videos on how to get around this and found a video of someone doing exactly what I wanted to do using this, and it works really well.It is overkill really just for what I use it for but it allows me to connect more audio sources in the future if I need to which is always helpful.I am still trying to figure out all the right settings and stuff which for a audio novice like me is going to take a while but I would rather try to work things out myself rather than asking for help.So if you are a budding YouTube video creator or Live Streamer and decide to use 2 PC's for it, then this will help alot and is well worth the money.I am very happy with it, as one other bonus is that I like to listen to my music loud in my headphones and this will push them higher than my pc can which is awesome for the type of music I listen to.

I decided to upgrade my speakers to some entry level audio monitors as I do a lot of editing and film work. I also wanted some decent speakers for general listening too. As I have a number of inputs such as Desktop, Laptop, PS3 and occasionally others, I thought i'd get a Mixer as it would be handy for handling multiple inputs, adjusting the sound and it would look really cool on my desk!This works great for me and was great for under £100, I considered a number of cheaper and smaller ones but this has a whole lot more channels and features than the lower end ones for not much more money.I would have liked it to have had another stereo channel or two but that's no problem as I use 3 & 4 together for my Desktop and still have 2 channels to plug in Microphones for recording. You can also use the FX and Aux Returns as extra stereo channels if you don't need them for anything else.Great audio quality from this and the build quality is decent, the USB interface can be used to record your Main Mix or as a Sound input into the 2 Track. I use it all the time to record voiceovers and other bits and it works great with Adobe Audition and Audacity.Great features and quality for the price! Has worked brilliantly for my home edit suite setup.I would recommend to people who are looking for a basic mixer for home setups, small live events/functions. Musicians maybe wanting to record vocals and instruments with XLR mics. You aren't able to record channels separately over USB as it all goes through the main mix so you won't have individual control over your levels in post unless you record them separately but it's great if you want to record music, voiceovers etc...

For the money, this is an excellent mixer. Does just what you want with exceptional clarity. I use it for recording, broadcasting and podcssting and for using on DJing it's just what I needed. Easy to set up, easy to use and easy to control.
