ELP HD USB Camera Module Super Mini Embedded Webcam with 120degree M7 Lens

I tried several USB cameras for inside my XTool D1 Pro laser engraver enclosure and most did not give me a full picture with the relative short distance. This camera worked out well. It gives a nice sharp picture, with the right lighting and the wide angle give a good view of most of the inside without distortion.

Purchased two of these, both quit working after only a few months

This was a little hard to set up. You must have knowledge of computer based software and the internet. I would not suggest this product if you do not. Besides that it works exactly as described and served its purpose to catch a thief at our business. It is not as incognito as you would expect and the cord is really short. You have maybe 2-3 feet from your usb on the computer. So if you are using a tower then you may have issues. If you are using an all in one desktop then it works easier length wise.

Great add on to a Raspberry Pi for use with a 3D printer. Low power use and good image/video quality.

The camera is good, however the 120 deg angle vision tends to round the image near the borders. It is called fisheye vision, and if your plan is to use it with your vision system programming you would need to crop your image or apply some kind of image correction. Focusing is fixed, however major of closer objects are well focused, far objects are ok. It has some fliker, kind of a flashing, from time to time, related to low light to high light conditions but, for using on a robot test it may be no problem.

I ordered 2 of these and both had narrow angle lenses. I drew the visible area that the camera sees in the attached photo. I don't have a protractor handy but it's obviously less than 90 degrees and looks like it might be 60. Both boxes said 120 degrees on them. On the upside it works out of the box with recent (Oct 2016) raspbian.

The picture quality of this camera is mediocre at best. Unless the subject has a very bright light source the picture looks muddy. The frame rate is so poor it looks like a time lapse slow motion picture. Light sources in the field of vision have flares and halos, washing out the picture. Would not recommend.

Great picture! Easy to set up! I'm using with a Raspberry Pi 3 and OpenCV for object tracking and it works great!
