Lap Desk (13" Laptop Computers)

I have two of these, one in each size, and absolutely love them! I bought the second, smaller one for use with my little Chromebook. They provide the stability and level surface I want and prevent the heat build up and hot lap I hated, especially when wearing shorts. Great design -- simple, sturdy, compact, easy to carry around, and not in the way when not in use. I had one with a cushioned bottom that was always a problem to store, and added it's own insulating heat, liking covering your lap with a pillow! These look great, work beautifully, and stay cool. I did not notice any odor.

I really like the lap desk. Especially how light weight (bamboo and holes result in a very lightweight platform) and the design is stylish. The holes allow airflow and also provide something of a handle when carrying and lessen the weight.My ASUS laptop is 15in(Width) x 10in(Depth). I ordered the 13" model as the published dimensions match my laptop and I did not want extra space around the laptop. This 13" model fits my 15x10 laptop almost perfectly with no overlap, so make your choice based on the published dimension of the lap desk and your laptop dimensions and your preference.I'm taking off one star for lack of an applied finish such as polyurethane that would seal the wood better. I have put a couple coats of antique oil finish by Minwax on mine to seal and smooth the finish. This easily wiped on with a cloth and is much easier to work with than polyurethane.

The look of it is great but the thing that keep me from giving it a 5 stars is the fact that it has quite a few splinters on it and it is not coated or treated or anything and so I can still feel the dust/powder on the product when I first opened it. I think I will try and wash it before my first use because I'm kind of scare of using it due to those splinters... But other than that, the color looks great and its build would do the job of keeping your laptop from overheating.

I love working at my desk, but sometimes I have found that I prefer to work from my couch (especially when writing emails or reading emails—which is something I understand a lot of people use an iPad for). In those instances, the laptop's mild heat gets very annoying.I ordered this to address the problem, and this product was better than what I expected.This bamboo lap desk is very light (especially because of the aeration holes), yet thick enough that your lap is truly protected from the heat. Finally, I appreciate the natural finish of the object: it seems like it is just pure pressed bamboo with no additional treatment, paint or varnish. This is a great lap desk for my laptop. When I got rid of my coffee table where I normally used my laptop, I was left with a dilemma on how to use my laptop on my lap without it overheating or burning my legs up. After a quick Amazon search, I found this product and am very happy with it. It is lightweight and thin, so it doesn't add much bulk when I have my computer on my lap. I have a 13" MacBook and this fits perfectly, there is about 1" of room around the entire laptop.

Very nice product. It was delivered quickly and came in the packaging shown. The smell was a bit funky at first as stated in the description, but goes away after a few days. I use this in bed almost every night as well as sitting on the couch or out on my patio balcony when the weather is nice. Like previous reviews have stated, it's very modern looking and is a nice touch to any space in your home! The reason I am giving 4 stars is because there is a weird couple spots on the backside that makes it look discolored and "sticky" if that makes sense. It looks as if it's wet or something but I think it may be some sort of varnish build up? I really have no idea. The other thing that bothers me a little is that there are some tiny chips with the wood, especially along the cut out sections meant to help ventilate your laptop. These two minor flaws were not enough reason for me to return this product, as I use it all the time regardless and really do not see the discolored spot or the chips when my laptop is on top. Overall, great product and I feel that this does help keep your laptop cooler than what it would be on your lap!

Great, lightweight tray that works with both my 13 & 14" laptops. Comfortable even without padding and the holes keep both the computer and your legs cool. I had been using a solid tray with a built-in cushion and the computer exhaust would become noticeably hot at times; that no longer happens. Very lightweight, attractive, and environmentally-friendly. Easily slides out of sight between an end table and couch when not in use. Customer service is also top-notch. This is a no-risk purchase!
