nice... two people for application to prevent disaster
I like this product even though I was concerned about the poor reviews and the difficulties people were having installing the backing.Let me start by saying DO NOT DO IT ALONE.... Makes life 100% better with a extra set of hands.Make sure you or your helper is wetting the sticky side of the background while removing the paper covering.. WILL PREVENT STICKING TO ITSELF.suggest laying the tank on its front on the floor to make it easier to place the background on and to make trimming easier.overall it looks great... fairly quick to apply.. easy to work with if you have two people... overall i would buy a product like this again for other tanks but would check local sign shops to check out their prices for vinyl.

Good Aquarium background
I used the blue background. Installation is fairly straight forward. Don't make my initial mistake and cut the background down to a size close to your tank and then trim when finished. My first attempt I didn't do this (which the instructions said to do), and having too much extra hanging around caused slippage and tears when trying to remove bubbles. Went well the second time around. I didn't get all bubbles out; but plants and stuff cover that up. I gave it four stars because I had difficulty getting some bubbles out without tearing the background.

Fairly easy to put on and looks good
Pretty happy with this one! My tank is roughly 30x25 so this was a pretty close fit with a little trimming. This would be a lot easier if your tank is empty but I applied it to my set up tank without too much trouble. I followed the instructions and filled the little spray bottle with water and a few drops of dish soap, then sprayed the back of the tank. I then unraveled the background and sprayed it as well. BE VERY CAREFUL doing this. If the background curls and touches itself before you've sprayed it, it's game over (just like car window tint). What I did was unroll it just a few inches and spray, then a few inches more and then spray. At that point I put something heavy over the edge (making sure it was wet) and then unrolled it the rest of the way spraying as I went. As long as it's all wet it won't stick and you'll be ok.After it was all laid out and sprayed I picked it up and positioned it on the back of the tank. Provided you properly wet everything down you will be able to reposition and slide it around. After I got it in position I used the scraper card starting at the top to smooth it all out and worked my way down with it. Then I took a razor knife and trimmed the excess off around the edges (note: if your tank will leave you with a lot of overhang you should probably trim it a bit before you start). Finally do a final smoothing to remove any bubbles and seams (make sure to look at it from the front to see any bubbles as well). That's all! Took me maybe 10 minutes and it looks a lot better than plain white wall.

Bette to install on an empty tank
Make sure you follow the directions otherwise you'll be kicking yourself in the read end. Also . . . it helps to put this on an empty aquarium with the back side face up. Trust me . . . much easier this way. I tried to install this on a 150 gallon aquarium that was already set up. I had about 8-10" of space between the back of the tank and the wall. Suffice it to say, it was a difficult install. Because you have to use a soap solution I was afraid of the spray getting into my tank. I probably should have used more soapy spray. As it is, I missed a couple of spots and the background did not adhere tightly to the tank. Not a big problem in my case as I've got a planted tank and the plants are filling in nicely.

Major Challenge Great stuff
This stuff is a major challenge if you never tackled something like this before. Installed on a 210 Gallon tank (Empty leaning against the wall) The Install went well until the last 12 to 15 inches or so after pulling the last of the paper off it quickly roll onto itself before getting to wet it. Trust me this will not pull apart once that happens. (Highly recommend 2 people extra set of hands a must) Had to trim the bad part off now that left me with a bare spot delima. The good thing was this roll had about 6" more in height then i needed. I had used a PVC pipe cutting scissors to trim it to size nice clean cut while it was still in a roll. That 6" extra X 72" i was able to cut strips and patch them to cover the bare area and the job is finish and looks perfect and with black you can't hardly see the seams with one of the seams behind the built in overflow. The moral of the story is take your time get a BIGGER spray bottle then what comes with the kit a lot of soapy water goes a long way and the little bottle is nowhere big enough to hold the amount needed for a large tank. And 2 People for the extra hands. Great product and I will use this stuff again but following my own advice in the future it is NOT a one person job on large tanks.

Probably works best on smaller tanks
The product is decent and a lot like window tint but thicker so you can't see through it. I have a 125 gallon tank and no matter what I did I could never get the bubbles out, so the background looked horrible. I ended up pulling it all off and putting it back onto the backing paper it came with, then I just taped the outer side to the tank, which is not sticky and looks like latex. Worked out OK but more like a traditional background. I'm sure it would work well with smaller tanks from 10-75 gallon. If you use it on bigger tanks the little spray bottle it comes with isn't going to be enough.
